- That is true, but it is in use in several wikipedias to show worldwide reactions to the event. Therefore, this is not a valid deletion rationale on commons. There's no NPOV rule for commons. --PaterMcFly (talk) 06:38, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Support deletion. the image is totally out of project scope. the swastika in the israeli flag promotes enmity and represents anti-Semitism, has no eduactional value, offends 15 million people and is, in fact, totaly redundant and useless. Yonidebest Ω Talk 16:29, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Speedy Kept. Let's not waste time with this. Previous discussions regarding similar images have resulted in the same outcome, the images have been kept. Commons is not censored per COM:CENSORSHIP, nor does Commons aim to only include neutral content as per COM:NPOV. None of the arguments presented in support of the deletion go beyond what could be characterised as "I don't like it". The image is by an artist considered notable in the sense that numerous projects have an article about him and the event the work relates to is of international significance therefore it is reasonable to believe it is "realistically useful for an educational purpose" in illustrating both the work of this artist and reactions to the event. In addition, the image seems to be legitimately in use on several projects. It is firmly within the project scope. Adambro (talk) 16:45, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

- The AP image is identical to the one supplied by the Free Gaza Movement on their Flickr stream. Probably, it was a photo like this one or this one that was used by Latuff. - Keep - Rama - what the hell? By your logic pretty much every drawing ever made is a copyright violation if someone happened to take a photo of it at some point. - No, the angle of the view I'd be willing to accept, but the disposition of the flag is not innocent. That's clearly a derivative of one identifiable photograph, the one from the Flickr stream. I'd searched this image on Commons and on the Internet yesterday without finding any other instance than the one in Le Monde credited to AP, hence this DR. Rama (talk) 14:45, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Image of a logo on the floor of a basketball court. The logo is in the public domain but the image itself is not a faithful reproduction of the logo etc. The image is not selfmade, but taken from http://www.theranger.org which has a copyright notice (here). Deleted because we have no proof yet that it was published before 1923 or that its copyright expired otherwise. According to the en-wp article, this photograph has been taken out of the 1925 movie Sally of the Sawdust.
