English: Barnards Green Sign Located on the traffic island.
One of a series of similar designed signs indicating the various districts of Malvern. This one depicts a stag by a pear tree with the Malvern hills in the background. The stag, no doubt, represents the hunting forest (later Malvern Chase) which dominated all the lives of those dwelling between the Malvern Hills and the River Severn. The pear tree is probably the Black Worcester Pear - the symbol of the county. |
