I think it's important to make the distinction between the Chinland Council, who controls the majority of northern Chin State, and the Chin Brotherhood, a rival Chin group allied with the Arakan Army that controls Matupi and Kyindwe (see [https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Myanmar_Civil_War_detailed_map Myanmar civil war detailed map]). Multple Small Updates

myebon was captured by the aa acording to irrawaddy what are the sources for the area controlled by southern shan state army bordering kayin sate and the pnla area of control around hsihseng the area controlled by the pnla seems generally unclear mabein was also captured by kia and pdf forces the area between shan and kachin state seems inacurate more generally Thomas Van Linge seems to be a very good source for map edit and has his own map that would be good to look at -fireduck420

Shan State Army - South lost some of its northern territory

According this articles from April and May 2023 on Myanmar Frontier and TNI, Shan State Army - South lost some of its northern territories during conflict with Shan State Army - North, TNLA and UWSA. SSA-S has on the map territories on the far North from its headquarters. This territories conquered SSA-S in 2015, but in 2021 SSA-N, TNLA and UWSA pushed back. The articles do not say exactly how far south SSA-S has been pushed, but it is likely that SSA-S currently controls less territory than shown on the map.

In the same vein, in 2015 the SSA-S intruded into areas claimed by the SSA-N and TNLA in northern Shan, but in 2021 it was pushed back with overwhelming firepower by their combined forces, aided by the UWSA. It is believed that China also wanted the SSA-S out of northern Shan and gave indirect orders to expel its troops from that territory. (https://www.frontiermyanmar.net/en/how-internal-conflict-in-shan-state-has-kept-it-aloof-from-the-spring-revolution/)
the RCSS has been forced to retreat from the territories in northern Shan State...Two areas in Shan State came under heavy crossfire during February this year. Fighting broke out between the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) and the combined forces of the Shan State Progress Party (SSPP) and allied Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) in Namtu, Hsipaw, Kyaukme and Mong Kai townships. (https://www.tni.org/en/article/the-advance-and-retreat-of-a-shan-army?content_language=my) Dr. Ivan Kučera (talk) 18:30, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In addition UWSA has control over its discontiguous southern section on the Thai border as well- but I'm not sure of what sources to use to map SSA-S's current control. EmeraldRange (talk) 18:43, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Namkham

Namkham is not "contested" between KIA and TNLA. They are both anti-government groups and control it jointly, so it should be split dot instead. Can you fix it @EmeraldRange:  ? Borysk5 (talk) 07:39, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Needs Updating

Pauktaw and Kyaukme have fallen to rebels aswell as alot of the roads around the capital of Chinland (De Jure) Hakha, aswell as Hopang has been transferred to the Wa State, if you have followed the irrawaddy which is probably the best source on this civil war, 77.44.68.140 11:26, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese translations wildly off

@GoombaKoopa, Over the past few months of editing it, the zh-hant chinese has becoming pretty wildly off. The tool that you used throws the error "This file contains a switch element that contains an element that is not a text element." My understanding is pretty limited, so was wondering if you could help resolve that issue. I'm happy to go in and make the translations myself. EmeraldRange (talk) 21:06, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

BGF's

I support the inclusion of border guard forces in the map but they need to be added to the key summary thing :@EmeraldRange:

also, I think we should add the Kaladan River in Rakhine as it is a pretty important river --Fireduck420 (talk) 02:43, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

They are labelled- we decided to put the KNA and NDA-K on the map since they are BGFs with somewhat independent/neutral stances. Other BGFs aren't included since there are dozens of them. Agreed on Kaladan but that's sadly beyond my ability. EmeraldRange (talk) 02:48, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Chin Brotherhood vs Chinland Council

I think it's important to make the distinction between the Chinland Council, who controls the majority of northern Chin State, and the Chin Brotherhood, a rival Chin group allied with the Arakan Army that controls Matupi and Kyindwe (see Myanmar civil war detailed map). Given that the two groups have recently clashed, I think it's important to make the distinction. CrazyMagicPickle (talk) 19:54, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
