Taxonomic note
Ochlodes venata or O. venatus refers to the East Asian sister species. Ochlodes sylvanus (sometimes called O. faunus) occurs in Europe and Asia east to China, O. venata from China east to Korea and Japan. They are possibly sympatric in China.
