Description

Taken from the roadbridge with the station entrance to the right, is a view of Chessington South made during a visit on 18 February 2012. Out of several termini visited that day, this one had barely changed from previous visits. Stations along the Chessington branch all bear distinctive concrete waiting shelters. Overall stations have not aged well over their 70 or so year life looking somewhat spartan.

The train in view is 2M44, 15:10 Chessington South to London Waterloo and worked by 455.752 although the South West Trains fleet of these units carry just the last 4 numbers. The sub class 455/7 were constructed in 1984/85 and utilised one trailer from class 508s prior to being moved to Merseyrail system.
