Model - Gemma Year Taken - April 2014 Camera - Sony A7R Lens - Carl Zeiss 85mm f/.4 Location - Studio Image Info Shooting at 50mm on full frame (about 35mm on cropped) is both a good thing and a bad thing. The bad is that it accentuates depth and that it deforms facial perspective. Take this shot of Gemma, you can see howler face looks more angular and her eyes bigger - thats cos its shot at 50mm. The benefit of such a focal length is that I can get much closer to her whilst still fitting her all in. There is an intimacy in the image that you wouldn't get at 85mm. You feel closer to her, you feel more part of the image. Gemma Although he is still only 19, this is now the fourth time that I have worked with Gemma. Some time in the last few months, she has turned into a woman. When I worked with her before, especially the first time when she was only 17, she wasn't sexy and every image was laced with a cuteness that was hard to find in many other models. Yes, she is still cute, but she has suddenly developed a sexiness which has started to emerge from her images. She talks now, too. Before, you were lucky if you could get two words out of her during a 4 hour shoot. Now, she won't shut up! In the blink of an eye, in the fire of a flash and the snap of a shutter, she has turned into a woman. She looks different, she holds herself different and she can model! Today, we did everything from boudoir, to portraiture and as you will se later; topless! She is confident in herself and Im sure this comes through in the images.
