  • Province of Brescia, Region Lombardia, Italy

The "Campo San Giovanni" site is located just a few hundred meters southeast of the monastery of San Salvatore and San Benedetto founded in the mid-8th century. Gold leaf cross. Both arms of the cross show the impression of the same mold. The motif consists of curved tendrils with blossoms and leaves.

  • Photographed while on display from 22 August 2008 to 11 January 2009 in the exhibition "Die Langobarden. Das Ende der Völkerwanderung" at the Rheinisches LandesMuseum Bonn. On loan from Milan, Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici della Lombardia, Nucleo operativo di Brescia.
