| Description |
English: Murukku is a snack mainly made in South Indian houses during diwali and Christmas. When made, women of the household make around 2 kg to share the celebration of the festival with friends and family.
This recipe is made with rice and urad dal in 4:1 ratio. Urad dal is dry roasted and then, rice and dal is grounded into fine powder. This flour is mixed with ghee, sesame seeds and water. This flour mixture is then molded into Murukku maker or known as Murukku kuzhal and then deep fried. Here, in this recipe, if we add garlic powder it becomes garlic Murukku and if we add ginger powder as extra flavor, it becomes ginger Murukku. This is taken as evening snacks. |
