Description |
English: Save a 'bob' in the Pound whole: the main image occupies the majority, with a smaller image positioned in the lower left. The title is separate and placed in the lower quarter, in black and red. The main text is separate and located in the upper quarter, in red. Further text is integrated and positioned in the upper left, also in red, and in the lower left, in white. All set against a brown background. image: full-length depictions of a British Army Sergeant and a young trainee soldier standing in front of a target used for shooting practice. The Sergeant has positioned the soldier so close to the target that the end of his rifle is almost touching the centre of the target. The smaller image is a depiction of a cartoon character whose torso is made from a One Shilling coin. This poster was scanned and released by the Imperial War Museum on the IWM Non Commercial Licence. The artwork was created by a commissioned military artist during their active service duties in the First World War. In the UK this these became controlled under the Crown Copyright provisions and so faithful reproductions may be reused under that licence, which is considered expired after 50 years. | |||
