Summary
[edit]DescriptionSchematic mollusc3.svg |
English: Anatomical diagram of a hypothetical ancestral mollusc, redrawn from T. Huxley's 1853 diagram. Note that although Huxley does not explain the nature of the long nerve running diagonally posterior from his parieto-sphanclic ganglia or the nature of the ganglion to which it appears to be attached, this is most likely what Huxley refers to as the angeial ganglia, a pair of ganglia located close to and above the anterior aorta and providing neural control to the ventricle/ auricles/ pericardium. |
