Кыргызча: Зыяш (Зияш) Бектенов (23.10.1911 – 21.10.1994) – Кыргызстандын чыгаан илимпозу, тилчи, манас таануучу, котормочу. “Манас” дастаны боюнча эмгектери үчүн 1950-жылы жазыксыз жерден абакка айдалган. И.Сталин өлгөндөн кийин акталган. Кыргызстандын эгемендикке жеткенине күбө болгон.
English: Zyiash (Ziyash) Bektenov (23.10.1911 – 21.10.1994), a prominent Kyrgyz scholar, the author of the textbooks, was repressed by the Soviet Stalinist regime for his study of the Kyrgyz epic “Manas” in 1950 and held in the KarLAG prison in Kazakhstan. He was freed during the Khrushchev era. He witnessed Kyrgyzstan’s post-Soviet independence and died peacefully in Bishkek.
Русский: Зыяш (Зияш) Бектенов (23.10.1911 – 21.10.1994) — выдающийся киргизский ученый, манасовед, языковед и фольклорист, который был репрессирован в 1950 г. за труды по эпосу «Манас» и оправдан в 1955 г. Умер в г. Бишкек.
