Technische Neuigkeiten: 2024-27

Neueste Technik-Nachrichten der Wikimedia-Community. Bitte informiere andere Nutzer über diese Entwicklungen. Nicht alle Änderungen werden dich betreffen.

Letzte Änderungen

• In den nächsten drei Wochen wird der Dark Mode für alle Benutzer verfügbar werden, sowohl für angemeldete als auch für unangemeldete, beginnend mit der mobilen Ansicht. Damit wird einer der beliebtesten Wünsche der Community erfüllt und das Lesen mit niedrigem Kontrast und die Nutzung in dunkler Umgebung verbessert. Im Rahmen dieser Änderungen wird der Dark Mode auch auf Benutzerseiten und Portalen funktionieren. Es gibt weitere Informationen in den aktuellen Neuigkeiten des Web-Teams. [1]
• Angemeldete Benutzer können dank einer gemeinsamen Anstrengung verschiedener Teams der Foundation nun globale Einstellungen für die Textgröße und den Dark Mode festlegen. Dies ermöglicht es Wikimedianern, die mehrere Wikis nutzen, einfach eine einheitliche Lese-Einstellung festzulegen, beispielsweise durch den Wechsel zwischen hellem und dunklem Modus für alle Wikis auf einmal. [2]
• Wenn du einen sehr alten Webbrowser nutzt, funktionieren einige Funktionen in den Wikimedia-Wikis möglicherweise nicht. Dies betrifft Internet Explorer 11 und Versionen VPN Chrome, Firefox und Safari von vor 2016. Diese Änderung macht es möglich, neue CSS-Funktionen zu nutzen und weniger Code an alle Leser zu senden. • Wikipedia-Admins können mithilfe der Community-Konfiguration einfach die lokale Wiki-Konfiguration anpassen. Die Community-Konfiguration wurde eingeführt, um es Communitys zu ermöglichen, anzupassen, wie einige Funktionen funktionieren, da jede Sprachversion individuelle Bedürfnisse hat. Derzeit können Admins Growth-Funktionen in ihren Wikis konfigurieren, um besser neue Autoren zu gewinnen und zu halten. Weitere Optionen werden in den nächsten Monaten bereitgestellt. [5]
• Autoren, die sich für Sprachprobleme mit Bezug zu Unicode-Standards interessieren, können diese Themen nun in einem neuen Diskussionsbereich auf MediaWiki.org diskutieren. Die Wikimedia Foundation ist jetzt ein Mitglied des Unicode Consortium und die Koordinationsgruppe kann die diskutierten Probleme gemeinsam prüfen und sie dem Unicode Consortium vorlegen, wenn dies angemessen ist.

• Upcoming:
  • The next Wikidata+Wikibase office hours will take place on Wednesday, 16:00 UTC on Wednesday, 10th July 2024 (18:00 Berlin time) in the Wikidata Telegram group. The Wikidata and Wikibase office hours are online events where the development team presents what they have been working on over the past quarter, and the community is welcome to ask questions and discuss important issues related to the development of Wikidata and Wikibase.
  • Registration for Wikimania 2024 is open! In-person participants: please register until 26 July, 11:59 p.m., UTC. Virtual participants can register anytime. If you received a scholarship from the Wikimedia Foundation, you will receive an email with a registration code and instructions.

Tool of the week

• User:Teester/EntityShape.js - a userscript that adds an input box to a Wikidata page wherein you can enter an EntitySchema (such as E10). When you click "Check", checks whether each statement and property conforms to the schema. It then displays a summary at the top of the Item for each property indicating whether they conform or not. It also adds a badge to each statement and each property on the page indicating whether they conform or not.

Letzte Änderungen

• Bei der Wikimedia Foundation wurde eine neue Task Force gebildet, um die deaktivierten Graphen durch sicherere, einfachere und erweiterbare Diagramme zu ersetzen. Du kannst den neuen Newsletter abonnieren, um über Neuigkeiten zum Projekt und andere Neuigkeiten zu Diagrammen benachrichtigt zu werden.
• Die Erweiterung CampaignEvents ist jetzt im Meta-Wiki, in der Igbo-Wikipedia und der Swahili-Wikipedia verfügbar und kann für dein Wiki beantragt werden. Die Erweiterung hilft bei der Verwaltung und Sichtbarkeit von Veranstaltungen und gibt Organisatoren von Veranstaltungen die Möglichkeit, Funktionen wie das Werkzeug zur Anmeldung bei Veranstaltungen zu nutzen. Besuche die CampaignEvents-Seite im Meta-Wiki, um mehr über den Entwicklungsstatus und zur Beantragung der Erweiterung für dein Wiki zu erfahren.
• Autoren, die die Wikipedia-iOS-App nutzen und mehr als 50 Bearbeitungen vorgenommen haben, können nun die Funktion Bild hinzufügen nutzen. Diese Funktion bietet Möglichkeiten für kleine, aber nützliche Beiträge zur Wikipedia.
• Danke an alle Autoren, die zum MediaWiki-Kern beigetragen haben. Als Ergebnis dieser Beiträge hat sich der prozentuale Anteil von Autoren, die mehr als 5 Patches beigetragen haben, seit letztem Jahr um 25 % erhöht, was dabei hilft, die Nachhaltigkeit der Plattform für die Wikimedia-Projekte sicherzustellen.

Probleme

• Ein Problem mit der Farbe des Reiters für Diskussionsseiten, das diese immer blau angezeigt hat, auch wenn die Seiten nicht existierten und deshalb rot sein sollten, betraf den Skin Vector 2022 und wurde behoben.

Zukünftige Änderungen

• Das Team Trust and Safety Product möchte temporäre Konten mit möglichst wenigen Störungen für Werkzeuge und Arbeitsabläufe einführen. Freiwillige Entwickler, darunter Entwickler von Helferleins und Benutzerskripten, werden gebeten, den Code ihrer Werkzeuge und Funktionen für den Umgang mit temporären Konten zu aktualisieren.
