Line 79 ⟶ 75:
"According to former Polish Communist leader Wojciech Jaruzelski Honecker kissed many politicians in a disgusting way."
This line comes across as homophobic and doesn't belong in an encyclopedia, IMHO. It should be reduced to 1) "...kissed many politicians.", 2) otherwise edited, or 3) removed altogether. I vote for 1). <small><span class="autosigned">— Preceding unsigned comment added by Gunnstein (talk • contribs) 09:53, 28 June 2013 (UTC)</span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->
:Such kissing was merely the Socialist Fraternal Kiss which is closely related to the cheek kissing which was custom in European nations, with the Socialist Fraternal Kiss being popular within Socialist ones and being exchanged amongst leaders, in rare cases on the mouth if they were especially close. Yes, the random mention of a son is confusing, and probably incorrect. Is this another illegitimate child? Should be deleted if there is no source for the claim.

Biases
The article contains various biased, erroneous, and oxymoronic terms and phrasing intended to evoke negative reaction out of readers. Terms such as regime are present when terms such as government, leadership, or country could be substituted in their place. :Now I have removed most instances of the term regime as it refers to the GDR, the Socialist government, Honecker's leadership, etc. Proletarian Banner (talk) 23:54, 3 February 2022 (UTC)

NPOV issues
This article has issues with presenting a neutral point of view. In the first sentence, it mentions that Honecker was a "dictator". This is not consistent with other articles for heads of state of the GDR or other socialist countries, especially those that had more political influence.
Also concerning is that one editor repeatedly reverts the addition of the NPOV template without having a good reason to do so. Michael60634 (talk) 16:25, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
:All that matters is whether reliable sources describe him as such.<small><span style="border:1px solid black;padding:1px;"><span style="color:orange;background:blue;font-family:sans-serif;"> Volunteer Marek </span></span></small> 18:21, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
::The wording also matters. Wikipedia is supposed to be neutral. And the Wikipedia pages of other people known as dictators do not mention that the person is a dictator in the lead. Consistency is important. Michael60634 (talk) 18:48, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
:::"Neutral" means follows reliable sources. If he's referred to as dictator by reliable sources then neutrality requires we do so as well. I have no idea nor care how "other pages" do it. If "other pages" fail to accurately reflect sources then it's those that need to be corrected.<small><span style="border:1px solid black;padding:1px;"><span style="color:orange;background:blue;font-family:sans-serif;"> Volunteer Marek </span></span></small> 22:32, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
