Hello Veledan, at first: Congratulations to the very well made article on bladderworts, I am impressed. I am the editor of quite a few articles concerning CP's in the German Wikipedia and right now quite busy with a project to make a book from them (a publisher is cooperating quite close with the WP and its editors since a while here). Though "my" article on ''Utricularia'' is already a featured article in de [[:de:Wasserschläuche|(check it if you like, though it meanwhile needs a rework again)]] I regrettably couldn't get to much good pictures for it. Your pictures are great, especially the sketches are well made, and I'd be very glad if you could upload them to the commons, where I and others can use them too.
 
It's nice to see, that finally someone is working on this quite neglected area in en too, in case I can helpful (literature?), just drop a note at [[:de:Benutzer:Denisoliver]], some international cooperation might make this even more funny and even might give the WP a better image within the CP-community. As the poll clearly shows, the first version is the one to promote (which is fair, too, since it has the same tonal values as the original we voted on in the first place, ''and'' it was supported by the creator, [[User:Gilles_Tran]]). I have uploaded it to [[:image:povrayglasses2048.png]] - so, tomorrow you can promote that version, and maybe overwrite the old 800 pixel version with it?

When I started disambiguating the page two weeks ago, I did disambiguate the first few links for English Civil War Parliamentarians to ''Roundhead'' exactly as you suggest, but then I went back and changed them to point to [[Parliament of England]]. The article ''Roundhead'' focuses only on the use of that nickname: it says little or nothing about the people and the cause. Out of all the articles available ''Parliament of England'' seemed to me to be the one that would least surprise the reader. I appreciate that if ''Roundhead'' were expanded or a specific article created, the links would need disambiguating again. I even considered redlinking them all to [[Parliamentarian (English Civil War)]] to indicate the need for the article, but I didn't want to do that without discussion. :Erm, yes that would fix it! I wasn't actually asking you to do all of that, I just wanted to make you aware of the issues. Basically, when mass fixing images, it would be best to either leave out the wikipedia-namespace FP pages, or to do all of the above so that it doesn't cause problem/confusion later. I (and other FPC regulars) have spent hours and hours during the last two months trying to find historic debates on various FP images prior to opening delisting debates, and occasionally it has been impossible to work out whether an image was promoted or not if the original has been orphaned and deleted, and a new picture has been uploaded with the same title. Create two text files in your pywiki folder called '''promotionbot'''(or whatever)'''.py''' and '''v_MyPage.py''', and paste the code from the source page into them. I'd recommend running it in IDLE instead of the default console, but it should work either way (to run in IDLE, right-click promotionbot.py in explorer and choose 'Edit with IDLE'. Then on the window with the code in it, choose from the menu Run-->Run Module). I'll be interested to know if you get a problem. About the picture's candidature being posted across wikiprojects: (I've also CCd it to the FPC) I did it in good faith as I wanted it to be reviewed by all concerned parties concerned, not just WP:FPC. I didn't want a scenario to occur later saying "how could this POV map be featured!?"
 
Secondly, since you have expressed opposition to the fact that this promotion of the map as a blank one is well, bizzare. True, but considering that this *is* the only NPOV map of India available on the internet is quite an achievement, and I nominated it for that too. Anyways, thanks for explaining your vote. :I hope I didn't offend you with my comments on the map FPC, and I apologise if I did. I see your point about getting the nomination 'validated' by everyone with an interest in the topic and it's a good argument. It's a pity that as a side effect it has attracted many support votes from inexperienced contributors to FPC who are basically supporting a single issue - the map's (undisputed) accuracy and clarity. That's not enough to make an FP in my opinion, as I explained in my vote.<br />

What do you think about posting a link to [[Wikipedia talk:Featured pictures visible#Gallery or split the page?]] from the Community Portal? Maybe it's too minor an issue to attract broader community input, or maybe it's a rather straightforward decision. But it is a relatively important page, and it seems like we could use more than 4 opinions on the matter. Today, while searching for a not copyrighted picture to include in the page, I found out that the English writer was not looking like a priest...
I am not sure the picture of the nun you put on the English page will be helpful for the Italian wiki site: here they look to have a very strict policy about photoes. To take a picture from en.wikipedia it must belong to a Common group, o to have the "Common" attribution (they do not sound very clear to me, sorry). Do you know anything about this "Common" and if your photo has or belongs to this attribute/group?
 
I read "your" Bakhita page needs expanding: since I live not very far from the place she lived, if I can be of help just let me know

:Commons e una collezione (separata degli altri wikiprogetti) di immagini con licenze liberi: possono essere usate da tutti per ogni scopo. Le immagini sono piu utili a Commons, ma ci sono molte immagini usate legalmente su wikipedia che non sarebbero legali su Commons, specificamente quelle giustificate dalla regola americana 'Fair Use', che permette a alcuni immagini non libere di essere usate su en-wikipedia. Non so se ci sia una regola equivalente su it-wiki.

I got the same unicode/ascii error, but I worked around it. The 1st time I went to your page & copied the text out using firefox and saved with notepad => error. I've put it back! It doesn't override the relevant part, though. <code>NewFP.mainVersionToReplace</code> objects are instances of <code>wikipedia.ImagePage</code>, which is still derived from the original <code>wikipedia.Page</code>. I do think you must somehow have an error in your wikipedia.py - there is simply no way the error traceback you provided could have derived from a bug in my script. Could you possibly grab a new copy from CVS? (or if you haven't set up the CVS, you could use the 'email this user' link to send me your email address and I'll mail the latest version to you). Alternatively, try saving this tiny script as testImagePage.py or whatever in your wikipediabot folder, and see what comes out:

Tornando a Bakhita, il convento esiste ancora e si trova a 500 metri da casa mia. Visto che di suore ce ne sono sempre meno, avevano pensato di chiuderlo, ma poi il papa ha deciso di far santa la "madre moretta" e hanno dovuto non solo lasciarci le suore ma anche tirar fuori i soldi per restaurarlo. C'è ancora una "primary schoool" inside. C'è una foto dall'alto al link http://www.fdcc.org/it/canossiane/bakhita/menubak.htm : il sito è orrendo, ma andando avanti troverai altre 3 foto, una fuori della chiesa, una dentro, una dell'urna della suora. C'è anche una cronologia molto precisa della vita della santa, che mi ha chiarito alcuni passaggi. Appena ho tempo faccio un salto al convento alla ricerca di informazioni sulle foto e su tutto il resto e poi ti so dire. Vedo di chiarirmi prima cosa richiedere esattamente per le foto.

:: Today I was back to the convent for some other information: the nun could not confirm the date of birth 1871, so I removed the sentence about it, as you had suggested. I was also given the third book listened in the biografy, "inchiesta su una santa", which is probably the most complete one (and it was printed in an English version as well!). In it I found that the 3 famous pictures of the nun were taken in 1933 in Venice by a famous Italian photographer, mr Brunel from Bolzano, who was an official photoghapher of popes; in the internet I found that he became very famous after taking a picture of the "sindone" in 1938. The pictures of the book come from the archives of the "curia generalizia delle figlie della carità canossiane" in Rome. So it is probably there we should write for permission. The nuns in Schio were very willing to agree, but I am afraid they are not considered the real owners.

::I had a look at the "saints project", but for the moment I am planning to write something about a noble from Venice, Nicolò Tron, having the same name of a former doge of Venice, who was ambassador in London for three years at the beginning of the XVIII century; there he visited several factories, and then imported the technology (and a number of specialized workers) into Italy, in particular in Schio: so it deals about connections between England (a country I love) and Schio (the place where I live). It is getting raher difficult to get informations about him. I am afraid I am not supposed to look too hard, not to make my writing become an "original research".
