Suggestions and word of advice: encourage instructors to inform their students about the pitfalls of Visual Editor ... about looking at how articles are structured before diving into them ... about Wikipedia policies and guidelines ... about getting feedback from experienced editors before making a major change to an established article. You want to encourage the participation from new editors, sure, but you don't want the editors you already have to stop giving a damn. Wikipedia needs editors — not the other way around.
