In addition to daily blog content, each week Next City publishes a deeply reported long-form story. The series, Forefront, is available by web subscription or as an app on the Apple Newsstand. In addition to online journalism, the organization produces events including an annual urban leadership conference, Vanguard. Originally named The Next American City, the organization began publishing a quarterly magazine in 2003.
