==Overview==
Kanungu District was created by the [[Parliament of Uganda|Sixth Parliament]] of the [[Republic of Uganda]] in July 2001. The district comprises one county with twelve sub-counties of KihiihiKihihi, Kambuga, Nyamirama, Rugyeyo, Rutenga, Kayonza, Mpungu, Kinaaba, Katetete, Nyakinoni, Nyanga, Kanyantorogo,and four Town Councils of [[Kanungu, KihiihiKihihi, Butogota, and KambugaTown Councils]]Kambuga.
