Could someone please let me know how to load up additional symbols to get different accents in Greek text. Last night I uploaded a new article - Hiera Orgas - and I wanted to provide the original Classical Greek for the name. The best I could do was ιερά οργάς, but the iota needs to be aspirated to render it 'hi' and the alpha needs a grave accent instead of an acute. Can someone please help? If it can't be done, then that's OK, the current Greek will have to do. Thanks in advance, MPCR (talk) 21:45, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
- I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for. For phonetics an aspirated consonant commonly seems to be denoted by a small "h", but ιʰ doesn't look right to me (I copy-pasted that from the code of the "aspirated consonant" page). There's a very wide selection of alternative symbols more readily available; you'll want to check out Help:CharInsert, and if that doesn't suffice, try Greek diacritics#Unicode to copy-paste them from. The alpha is ὰ, the iota likely one of these: ὶ, ῖ, ἰ, ἱ, ἴ, ἲ, ἶ, ἵ, ἳ, ἷ, ϊ, ΐ, ῒ, ῗ. There are even more exotic accented iotas available. Huon (talk) 23:00, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you Huon - that'll do nicely. Much appreciated!MPCR (talk) 23:09, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
