The 1999 Snooker Nations Cup was a team snooker tournament played at the Telewest Arena in Newcastle.
Ireland returned to competing as Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland this year and both went out in the first round to Rest of the World and England respectively. England went on to win their third title with the top 3 world ranked players Steve Davis, Jimmy White and Neal Foulds beating unfancied Australia with Eddie Charlton, John Campbell and Warren King 9 frames to 7.

- 19 April – After nearly 8 years on local radio and on Eurosport Archie MacPherson returns to terrestrial television when he stood in for Gerry McNee due to ill heath to commeate the Aberdeen v Rangers live league match on Scotsport and for the rest of the season.

- 31 May – Sky Scottish closes after just over eighteen months on air because the channel fails to meet its financial targets.[1]

- 10 June - Both BBC and STV broadcast Scotland's opening World Cup match against Brazil which was the first match in these finals. Gerry McNee briefly returns to STV to commeate Scotland's World Cup matches held in France but does his last for the broadcaster when Scotland played Morroco.
