Regarding the deletion of Jeff Watson (designer)

Hi,

I just realized that the page of Jeff Watson (designer) was removed. Jeff was a Assistant Professor and a mentor for me and many other graduate students in the department of Interactive Media and Game Design in the University of Southern California. He had a very good reputation not only among student but people in the industry and academia as well. He passed away in 2020, and the whole USC as well as his graduate school hosted a major event to memorize him. You believed that his page does not meet the requirement of notability guidelines, yet as a former student of him and a PhD in the field of game design and game studies, I have to point out with respect that this is not the case, many people still memorizing and talking about him even after 4 year of his death. I really wish you can withdraw the deletion of his page. ESAKA114514 (talk) 08:28, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I just noticed you undeleted the page of Jeff Watson (designer) I mentioned yesterday. Many thanks for it. However, I just noticed that it was removed again due to " Cross-namespace redirect from mainspace". I am wondering what happened to this page and how to properly recover it again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:8800:7c85:b500:d916:b9fd:2ad8:815a (talk) 05:46, 12 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@ESAKA114514: Hi, you created a copy of the deleted article at Draft:Jeff Watson (designer). Because copying within Wikipedia legally requires attribution, I restored the page history and merged it into the draft. Thank you so much for pointing it out! Is the current draft eligible to submit for review for there are still revision needed before doing so? ESAKA114514 (talk) 16:36, 12 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Deletion review for Koi... Mil Gaya 3

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Koi... Mil Gaya 3. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review.

Reasoning behind the edit you reverted

I noticed that you reverted my edit on Dongducheon station. The reason why I put it in the "Railway stations in South Korea opened in 1912" category is because railway station categories are named after the territories and countries they currently reside in. As in, this railway station currently resides in South Korea but was opened in 1912. I hope this makes sense, but please let me know if this is wrong. - OpalYosutebito (talk) 16:27, 12 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, thanks

Deleting my drafts realized I should be using Wikipedia for its intended purpose, thanks. :)

I just never knew where to edit so I put my conlangs here since they were very important to me, I tried getting people to like it but no one did. If you have any suggestions for any of my concerns, leave them below.

References

Hi, I don't know if it was you who deleted the page I requested or someone else; were there references within the deleted page that aren't present in the commedia dell'arte page? Unfortunately I didn't save the references, maybe some had to be transferred. Since you're an administrator, could you please check? JacktheBrown (talk) 01:12, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@JacktheBrown: Hi, I've made a copy of the article available here, where you can view all the references. The link will expire in one month. plicit

Request undeletion of Module:I18n for userification

Hey, I noticed Module:i18n was deleted almost a year ago for being unused, but I do think there is utility for keeping such a module around. Namely, a lot of modules from both Wikimedia and Fandom projects use i18n for messages and the like. I do think this module should be undeleted to allow for userification in Module:Sandbox/Awesome Aasim/I18n and examination of the code, etc. Awesome Aasim 19:09, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Awesome Aasim:   Done, module userfied. plicit 00:29, 17 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh my goodness, this is some waste of a module. Nothing like the i18n module on Fandom. Anyway, thanks. Awesome Aasim 00:32, 17 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Redirects

Dear Explicit, there are three redirects, like Saint Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral, Antelias, Armenian Diocese of Iraq, and Armenian Prelacy of Lebanon, which are definately not correct. It is obvious, that the main cathedral should not redirect to the pontifical see, when we have two different artilces in data ([1] and [2]). Armenian Diocese of Iraq, as the other Dioceses mentioned here, should have a separate article, as the one existing in data ([3]). Armenian Prelacy of Lebanon is the official name [4], and should never be a reference, but the main page. Please undo the reverts Խմբագրող (talk) 06:33, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Խմբագրող: Hi, these redirects simply do not meet any speedy deletion criteria. As I stated in my edit summaries, you are free to nominate them for deletion at WP:RFD. plicit 13:02, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
That's the first time I do it in English Wikipedia, will you support me? --Խմբագրող (talk) 13:29, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Miles Spencer - Delete

Please forgive any nomenclature shortcomings here; Interested on why this was deleted today? This page has existed for ~20 years and also has sources such as Forbes, NY Times, Fast Company, etc. contributing to the article. There are also multiple wiki pages that cross link. Note; this is also a living TV/Media personality. Full Disclosure; I work in an affiliate and was asked to investigate.

This page does not exist. The deletion, protection, and move log for the page are provided below for reference. 11:59, 18 September 2024 Explicit talk contribs deleted page Miles Spencer (Expired PROD, concern was: Poorly sourced promotional article on a "media entrepreneur".) Tag: Twinkle (thank) Fletcherpoince (talk) 20:41, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Explicit See above. I am tasked with investigating this removal, which has been active over ten years... mostly I am interested to know what promotional [piece/article/picture] may have triggered the PROD (which I missed until now- my bad)... the most likely fair solution is to remove the offending citation and let the legacy page stand. Happy to propose this back to the community, but figured I'd ask you first. Please advise. Kind regards Fletcherpoince (talk) 00:57, 19 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Fletcherpoince:(talk page watcher) There are no "legacy pages" on Wikipedia as explained in WP:LONGTIME. A proposed deletion is, for the most part, considered to be a non-contentious one; so, if you're telling Explicit that you wish to challenge this deletion per WP:DEPROD, then (absent any really serious issues) he most likely can restore the article. This, however, doesn't ensure that the article can't be nominated for deletion by someone at some point in the future. The best way to reduce the risk of that happening is to make sure the article complies with relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines, in particular Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons and Wikipedia:Notability.
Finally, since you're claiming to work in an affiliate and have been tasked with investigating this removal, you most certainly sound to have at least an WP:APPARENTCOI. For this reason, I strongly suggest that you take a close look at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure before doing anything else to better understand what's going to be expected of not only you but also of anyone else who might be being asked to make requests on behalf of Miles Spencer. You might also want to take a look at Wikipedia:Ownership of content, Wikipedia:When your boss tells you to edit Wikipedia and Wikipedia:An article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing for reference as well and pass along the information you find on those pages to whoever asked to "investigate" this matter because they might not fully understand some important things about Wikipedia. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:19, 19 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for guidance @talk page stalker. Please read my first sentence; "Please forgive any nomenclature shortcomings here" (rookie); I wanted to review the article for compliance as you suggest but ATM can't see it. So request is first step. Thanks again, incl. guidance on COI, Biographies, Notability. Fletcherpoince (talk) 02:12, 19 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the deletion of Mohammed Tharwat Hassan (Scientist)

Hi, I have realized you deleted Mohammed Tharwat Hassan's page. This page was created to present the biography of Mohammed Tharwat Hassan, an associate professor of physics and optical sciences at the University of Arizona. All the information and references on that page were correct and obtained from the Physics Department at the University of Arizona website https://w3.physics.arizona.edu/people/mohammed-hassan and from his research group's website

https://sites.arizona.edu/mohammedhassan/

Also, The research was based on his published research articles on his Google Scholar website

https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=JA0qsY0AAAAJ&hl=en

I would highly appreciate it if you could review the information and if confirmed to restore the page.

Thank you so much! — Preceding unsigned comment added by MTH111 (talkcontribs) 01:44, 19 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@MTH111: Sorry, but as the page was deleted as a result of a deletion discussion, I cannot unilaterally undelete the page. I see that you created a draft. You are free to work on it and submit your work for review at Articles for creation. plicit 03:34, 19 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank! @Explicit is there a particular reason for the deletion of the page?
also I would like to declare COI for the draft page i just submitted for review. MTH111 (talk) 03:52, 19 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@MTH111: The link to the deletion discussion is at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mohammed Tharwat Hassan, where other editors argued their reasons for deletion. To declare your COI, please see the instructions at WP:UPE, particularly the "Connected contributor (paid) template" box. plicit 04:00, 19 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Request for undeletion of pages of IMOCA 60 class boats

Hello, I noticed you deleted the pages to these three boats: IMOCA 60 11th Hour, IMOCA 60 Initiative Coeur 4, IMOCA 60 Maitre Coq 5. It is common practice, that every boat of the IMOCA 60 class has its own article. As the most important race of that class, the Vendée Globe is about to start in about two months, these article become more relevant and the sources available about the boats get better. I would like to have the chance to bring the pages up to a worthy standard and would like to request the undeletion of these. V.Glas (talk) 10:09, 19 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
