Jamey Farrell is a fictional character in the first season of the TV drama 24. Jamey was a Counter Terrorist Unit analyst. She was portrayed by colombian actress Karina Arroyave.
Personal Information
Jamey got her Bachelor's degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics from the University of California, Riverside. Prior to working for CTU she worked at Microsoft as a Security Specialist, and briefly at MIT as the "staff hacker". She is proficient in Python, Java, C++, Perl, Lisp, and HTML. She has a son named Kyle Farrell, whose father deserted Jamey. Jamey's mother also lives in Los Angeles.
Day 1
In the beginning of the season she worked as an analyst on the investigation into the threat on Senator David Palmer's life, and on a key card that Agent Jack Bauer sends them. The key card was passed to Jack by Richard Walsh who had obtained it from CTU analyst Scott Baylor. The card has had CTU information stored on it, and had been used to transfer CTU information out of the secure system. Jamey reports to Jack that the information had been loaded onto the card from Nina Myers' system at CTU. Jack briefly suspects Nina, but quickly dismissed this as a faulty conclusion after Nina provides an alibi for the night a data transfer to the card was conducted (she was away for that weekend with Jack). Later, work on the key card is passed to Milo Pressman.
At around 6:40 Jamey receives a call from a stranded Teri Bauer asking for help. Jamey sends assistance to Teri's location however Jamey has actually called Ira Gaines' henchmen who take Teri to the compound where Kim Bauer is already being held captive.
This reveals Jamey as a traitor working with Ira Gaines. Tony Almeida catches her in a lie when she tries to cover up Gaines' plan to have Jack kill Nina by saying she just received a telephone call from Nina. After Jack fakes the killing of Nina and she returns to CTU she confirms that Jamey had lied about the phone call. Tony and Nina confront Jamey with their suspicions without Gaines' knowledge, and restrain her in CTU's ITS room where Gaines, who believes Nina has just been killed by Jack, has no video feed. Jamey admits that she set up the feed into the CTU video surveillance system that has allowed Gaines to visually monitor personnel and activities in CTU throughout the day, and that she has been sending outside messages about the Palmer investigation, but she does not reveal her employer.
Tony and Nina threaten her, but Jamey only wants to speak to agency counsel and aside from admitting she was paid $300,000 to set up the video feed Gaines has been utilising, will only reveal her employer once she obtains immunity. After being apprised of the assissination attempt at Senator David Palmer's speech, Tony and Nina order Jamey to tell Gaines that Jack was not involved in the disturbance. When Jamey's son Kyle is brought to CTU as a way to get her to talk, Jamey is distraught. To try and get to her Tony suggests that his seeing his mother in restraints and being accused of treason will be very traumatic for Kyle. She asks for some time to think, and is left handcuffed to a table in the ITS room. When Nina and Tony return, Jamey has collapsed in a pool of blood having apparently attempted suicide by slashing a major artery with a broken coffee mug. Jamey is taken to hospital but dies shortly thereafter without regaining consciousness.
At the end of the day, Jack, searching for evidence of Nina Myers' wrongdoing, asks to view the backup ITS room surveillance video from the period Jamey "committed suicide". The video shows Nina Myers enter the room, overpower Jamey with a stun gun, and slashing her wrist. Nina killed Jamey to prevent her from revealing any information, making Jamey's death appear to be a suicide. It remains unknown whether Jamey ever knew that Nina was another mole. It was also never confirmed whether the key card that Jamey reported as Nina's was actually Nina's, or whether Jamey fabricated that information to shift suspicion away from herself.
