Cirit is a laser guided missile developed by Roketsan of Turkey exclusively for the country's T129 attack helicopters. It features a maximum effective range of 8 kilometers and is designed for both anti-armor and soft target engagements. Ground based tests of the missile were completed in June of 2008 and aerial tests aboard US-made AH-1S Cobra helicopters are scheduled for August. Serial production of the missile is expected to begin in the first half of 2009.
