Benny Banks is a British rapper who originates from Islington, London. He signed to the Warner Music Group label 679 Artists in late 2011 and released his debut single “Bada Bing” on January 18th 2012.[1]

History

Banks developed a passion for music from a young age, but it wasn’t until the age of 20 that he first started rapping. However, his first love is for his four-year-old daughter, who he says plays a key role in his drive to succeed.

His talent was immediately recognised after featuring on Radio 1Xtra DJ Charlie Sloth’s ‘Fire In The Booth’[2]. This was followed by both a ‘Warm Up Session’[3] and ‘F64’[4] on the urban online channel SB.TV.

Music career

On June 5th 2011, Banks released a mixtape titled ‘Patiently Waiting Vol. 1’.

Banks has collaborated with Roxanne, Joe Black, Squeeks and Hipman Junky and in December 2011 he supported N-Dubz rapper Dappy on tour in Norwich, Keele, Birmingham, Cambridge and London.[5]

On January 18th Banks released his debut single “Bada Bing”, along with a well received official video. The single has been playlisted on Choice FM and Radio 1Xtra.[6]

Banks is currently working with award winning designer Simon Parchment on his own self-titled clothing line as part of Parchment’s B-Original range.
