On the night 24/25 Oct 2016, Police Training Centre, Saryab road, Quetta was attacked by the militants and brutally killed 61 young cadets in cold blood while 118 were reportedly injured.[1] Three suicide bombers entered the Training Centre after shooting the watch tower guard. The recruits were asleep at the time of attack.[2] They were brought up in a single barrack on gun point and were made hostage for two hours. On resistance by recruits, the terrorists started killing the young lads at point blank range one by one. Meanwhile after hearing the shots, Pak Military and Balochistan Frontier Constabulary (FC) Quick Reaction Force (QRF) reached on the spot and entered the compound. Seeing the QRF, miscreants started firing on law enforcing agencies. When security forces got closed to the barrack in which the recruits were made hostages, two of the terrorists blew themselves up while the third one was shot dead by FC. As result of operation a young captain and a Naib Subedar of FC along with number of recruits got injured. During initial investigation, it came to light that miscreants who were talking on cell phones ,actually getting instructions from Afghanistan, revealed by the IG FC, Maj Gen Sherafghan.[3] The compound was declared ‘cleared’ after hectic four hours search. Lashkar e Jhangvi Alvi group accepted the responsibility of the attack.[4] However, the Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti blamed the hostile agencies operating from across the border. He , while talking to the media, quoted the example of Kalbhushan Yadev, said that the attack has been carried out by the hostile agency, specially RAW and NDS to destabilize Balochistan.[5][6]
