L'entité culturelle d'aujourd'hui est, à cette époque, divisée en plusieurs Etats dont le comté de Bourgogne (Franche-Comté historique), la ville libre d'empire de Besançon, les abbayes de Lure et de Luxeuil et le comté de Montbéliard.
English: Franche-Comté (without Belfort) after the treaty of Senlis (1493). The cultural entity was divided into several states including the county of Burgundy (direct ancestor of Franche-Comté), the imperial free city of Besançon, the abbeys of Lure and Luxeuil and the county of Montbéliard.
