Description

1907 bronze busts of Robert Collyer and Andrew Carnegie by Frances Darlington (died 1940), in Ilkley Library, Ilkley, North Yorkshire, England.

The busts were revealed to the public in Ilkley Library on 2 October 1907, and shown to Robert Collyer on the occasion of the opening of Ilkley municipal buildings and library. The busts were permanently exhibited at Ilkley public library and Ilkley Town Hall from 1907. In 1999 the bust of Carnegie was stolen, and its whereabouts are now unknown. The bust of Collyer remains in the library, as part of Ilkley Town Hall's collection.

Note: A full attempt has been made to establish the identity of the author of the photograph, via libraries, newspapers, archives, collections, internet, books, etc., but none was found.
