Rollback

Hi. I've improved since my last request from a month ago. I've made 2,000+ edits (~800 mainspace edits) and I put edit summaries in my rollbacks. I use Twinkle and RedWarn to revert vandalism and would like to be granted the rollback permission to use tools that require it, such as Huggle. Zaitalk 14:06, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm a bit wary of rollback rights, but I've gotten extremely tired of manually reverting persistent vandalism that occurs over multiple edits on the many contentious pages I watch. The biggest recurring culprits on my watchlist are the huge number of BLPs that I am often one of the very few people watching, some of which have long unfortunate histories of vandalism, and I also watch a lot of high profile politics-related pages that see huge volumes of vandalism. - Astrophobe (talk) 03:26, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Have you looked at trying out the antivandal tool WP:TWINKLE? Seddon talk 05:32, 12 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I tried it years ago and, at least at that time, I found I really didn't like it. It made my interface more cluttered and it felt like it made it easier to make mistakes. I figured one rollback button would be simpler. But of course I would try twinkle again if you think it's just better for the purposes I named. - Astrophobe (talk) 06:38, 12 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) @Astrophobe, shameless plug - you can use Wikipedia:RedWarn, which is like Twinkle, and remove all but one rollback button in your preferences. ✨ Ed talk!08:12, 13 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the advice, Ed6767. I just tried it out. It's clearly a useful tool, and I think I would like it more than Twinkle. But honestly I have a lot of the same issues with it. By default it added a ton of extra buttons all over the place, and though I'm sure you can do all sorts of fancy stuff to hide and rearrange those, I couldn't figure it out after a few minutes of looking around. I don't want to invest lots of extra time in learning some new user interface. And a lot of the big round icons that it comes with apparently do scary things like automagically post things on peoples' talk pages under my name. Maybe I'm really getting old, but I just want as little disruption as possible to the Wikipedia interface I've been using since at least 2007. A user permission change and a simple little button that sits inside page histories is as much of a change as I want. - Astrophobe (talk) 20:19, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) @Astrophobe You can configure RedWarn not sutomatically send warning messages under the "behaviour" section in its preferences. --littleb2009 (she/her) (talkcontribs) 18:27, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, as I acknowledged in the comment you're replying to. But I think I've exhausted the topic of user-written scripts, I'll await being granted or denied the user right that I came here to ask for. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. - Astrophobe (talk) 18:36, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have over 1000 edits and I am familiar with Anti-vandalism and reverting tools such as Twinkle and RedWarn. I feel like rollback rights would really help in my Wikipedia journey. Necctaylor (chat) 18:37, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I request for rollback rights previous month, at that time I didn't know about RedWarn and Twinkle and then I was asked to use these tools and since I'm using RedWarn and Twinkle to revert vandalism and place a warning on editor's talk page. I understand that what is vandalism or not. I'm near 1000 mainspace edits and my account is 188 days old. I'm eligible to get rollback right and I want to use Huggle to revert vandalism. Hello! Until about 24 hours ago, I had access to rollback granted by a 1-month trial. Said trial has now ended, and I would like to request rollback once again. I used the tool during the trial to the best of my ability. If I made too many mistakes with it, I will happily take responsibility by withdrawing this request. I am an active and consistent contributor to the English Wikipedia, and I have made more than 2,900 edits to Wikipedia. Rollback rights would help me in reverting vandalism quickly. Peter Ormond 💬 19:57, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not done - A combination of disruptive editing and sockpuppeting unfortunately leaves me to question fitness for advanced permissions at this time and a cooling off period of several months is needed. Seddon talk 00:39, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I'd like to request rollback rights to assist me in fighting vandalism. I've been using RedWarn and Twinkle for a while and now I think I'm ready. So that you don't have to look it up, I have over 500 edits in the mainspace and have been actively editing since 14 April 2021. --littleb2009 (she/her) (talkcontribs) 21:28, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm using SWViewer to patroll on wikis, and particularly here. I have also done syntax corrections with WPCleaner.
I already have the rollback on frwiki since September 2020 without any problems.
So I request the rollback to faster delete vandalism, and to easier delete vandalism that are in more then one edit. When I use WPCleaner, I also find older vandalism that I can easier revert with the rollback. Thanks RG067 (talk) 14:21, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
