16th-century defters
editHello Huldra. Can you please provide the Ottoman tax info for this village (Abdin), as well as for Hit, Daraa Governorate and Beit Ara?
Thank you, as always Al Ameer (talk) 05:01, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- and now Kuwaya and Nafia... Al Ameer (talk) 16:41, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- Abdin, Hit, Daraa Governorate and Kuwaya done. Cannot find Nafia? Huldra (talk) 23:07, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- And Beit Ara done,Huldra (talk) 23:30, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Huldra: Thank you for the additions. I thought I saw Nafia in your HA list but I was mistaken. However, I do see Zayzun (assuming it's the same one). Just added Schumacher's description to it. Can you please add the 16th-century info? --Al Ameer (talk) 14:31, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Huldra: @Al Ameer: According to their map, HA suspect that Nafia was called Bayt Ikkar (top of p199). But this seems too speculative to use. Zerotalk 14:40, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Zero0000: Agree—too speculative for Nafia, but very likely to be the ‘Beit Akkar’ ruin west of the Nahr al-Allan described at length by Schumacher (1886, pp. 53–60). —Al Ameer (talk) 18:00, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- Good catch. HA cite Schumacher a lot so they should have caught it. Zerotalk 01:58, 17 November 2024 (UTC)

- User:Zero0000: (7,050 akçe) + barley (3,150 a.)+ summer crops (1,890 a.), goats and/or beehives (500) + in addition to taxes on a water mill (30 a.) ? occasional revenues (500 a.); =13,000 akçe?? Huldra (talk) 20:30, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
