The word "sickest" as used in this article is highly subjective and improper. I'm going to remove it. Eno-Etile 06:35, 2 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Looks like a vandal - got to it. I removed the entire sentence because it was ill-defined. Most intense could mean anything.Peter Rehse 07:24, 2 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Merge from Extreme Martial Arts

edit

Quality issues aside with either article, Extreme Martial Arts and Extreme martial arts should be merged. I suggest using this article (lowercase "martial arts") as the destination article, since this is arguably not a proper noun (except insofar as it's used as one in marketing efforts by Century Martial Arts). —Erik Harris 13:30, 2 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

In the absense of any dissent, I've merged the two articles and created a redirect from the other article to this one. Since both articles are such short stubs, merging them was simple. —Erik Harris 13:25, 15 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

was there a discovery show called xma?

but I can't find an official account of it. Tkjazzer (talk) 05:05, 22 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

There was a documentary called "XMA: Xtreme Martial Arts":

However this just seems to have been the title of the documentary, rather than a reference to an actual school of martial arts. --Jenny 09:27, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

XMA and Martial Arts

edit

I'd like to keep this article NPOV. Designating XMA a sport rather than a martial art helped a lot. However, it does seem to me that XMA has roots in the martial arts, so that's why I've included martial arts, along with gymnastics and acrobatics, as one of the elements that are combined into XMA. I think that only mentioning gymnastics and acrobatics gives a false impression of what XMA is. I've made the edit, but I'd like to open up the discussion to hear other points of view. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.250.37.2 (talk) 14:20, 7 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I agree with you. It is a sport that has been taken from martial arts. I don't think it has technically been given "martial art" status yet, especially because it is a branch off from martial arts. I have found what you said verified in a website online. I will be adding some material and the reference as a source soon. Ryt 007 (talk) 19:35, 10 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Well, if Taiji Quan is a martial art, I guess this can also be a martial art. The difference is that the former is a traditional style with roots in the 16th century, while the latter is a company founded in ca. 2006. This reflects back on the topics respective notability. --dab (𒁳) 13:10, 20 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Additions

edit

I added a lot of content. Most of it came from my head, supported it by adding to web sites to the list of references. Feel free to format or alter the text. Added to the lead. Added a history section, techniques section, and a locations section. Changed criticism section heading to controversies (more PR and NPOV I think). Changed References section heading to notes, and moved it after all the content. This is how I have always seen it structured, and believe it to be a good way of doing things. Could use more references, more talk about the sections, and maybe another section or two. Ryt 007 (talk) 20:19, 10 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Chaturantabut

edit

Since Michael Chaturantabut is a living person, references in this article to him that were not sourced by reliable sources have been removed promptly. Jesse Crouch (talk) 04:40, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Needs reliable sources

edit

Currently, most of this article is sourced from the xmarevolution.com website. The controversies section is completely unsourced. Please see Wikipedia:Reliable_sources#Overview for more information. Jesse Crouch (talk) 05:05, 13 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

this is just a brand name of limited notability. apparently a case of {{advert}}. Should be merged with Michael Chaturantabut. The website doesn't manage to give actual information about the company, but it appears it was registered ca. 2006 in California. --dab (𒁳) 13:07, 20 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
