notability: As it stands, this person may achieve notability but if left as-is could be deleted. The "lally ref" was that commented url I put in the last notabiliy tag version. See source or I'll copy here if I get a chance. Nerdseeksblonde (talk) 17:28, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
Lally afd discussion,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Eugene_F._Lally This isnt like court nothing is binding but just an example I happen to know about. Passing mention in popular press may suggest greater notability but it needs to be more than local. You may be able to argue the NASA award is a national selective honor but I'm not sure. Being in early at NASA alone is probably no more notable than being a secretary early-on unless you can identify contributions that were widely recognized, even with a given "community"( note that this probably can not be "community" as in small town but rather something like engineering community on a national level). Personally it looks like it could survive but as-is notability may be questionable. Nerdseeksblonde (talk) 17:33, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
From quick goog search, he probably is notable but article doesn't really show it well. I thought if he left right before Challenger exploded there may have been a story there but nothing in the obvious locations. Nerdseeksblonde (talk) 21:30, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
