Elle Fanning's ancestry

edit

Hello, Atlan.

I noticed that you edited the "Elle Fanning" page and removed references to its subject's ancestry. As the information in question was derived from the genealogy that is already part of the page's references, I was wondering what your reasoning was. I would've simply restored it, but I thought that I'd ask you first.

Kind regards,

O.

I removed it because it was unsourced. I don't know what genealogy you are referring to but if it's this link, that doesn't lead anywhere and it was simply an oversight of me that I left it in the article.--Atlan (talk) 21:34, 13 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I see... Yes, that's it. When last I followed it, it led me to a genealogy of the Fanning family that stretched all the way back to Colonial America. Something must have happened to it since. You did the right thing.
That having been said, would you be open to me replacing what was deleted with a reference to her ancestry that can be backed by verifiable sources?

Besides it not being sourced, I don't see how her ancestry is relevant to the article, unless she has a famous ancestor who is notable in their own right. So unless you find something notable about her ancestry, I would leave it out of the article.--Atlan (talk) 08:14, 14 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
That's precisely what I want to provide. According to Ancestry, she's descended from King Edward III of England.

Seems interesting. I don't know if the ancestry blog passes as a reliable source though.--Atlan (talk) 22:42, 15 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Apology

Sorry about the hatting at InterMilan; I was slightly overzealous, I see, and in no way intended to slight your very reasonable comment by mixing it in with the bludgeoning. All well? ——Serial 14:03, 26 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Of course, no harm done.--Atlan (talk) 14:30, 26 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
