Help:Introduction to referencing with VisualEditor/6

I edited Help:Introduction to referencing with VisualEditor/6 to solve a lint error, specifically, Obsolete HTML tags, replacing the obsolete <center>...</center> with <div style="text-align: center;">...</div>. You reverted this edit with edit summary "You've basically nested the div tags, since the "intro to" template is using them too. That's why this page din't display its content." I didn't make the change to solve a display issue. I made the change to fix a lint error. As far as I know, there is no problem with nesting <div>...</div> tags without limit, for example, <div><div><div>Hello there.</div></div></div> displays as:

Hello there.

@Anomalocaris: did you try to open your revision of that page? Because it renders that page's content to not dissplay properly, see? It might have fixed the lint error, but it caused some another error, which made the content in the template hidden. Is there any other way to fix this?--Piramidion 13:04, 6 January 2019 (UTC)

Nevermind, I guess I've fixed this (I saw someone else do it this way): diff. For some reason the bare nested div tags with a "center" within, break the page (I've tried all the variants I knew of, none of them worked). So my assumptions as to what causes the issue were incorrect, at least to some extent.--Piramidion 14:15, 6 January 2019 (UTC)

You are right. I edited and the page looked OK, but I didn't see that something was blanked. This doesn't usually happen, for example, <div><div style="text-align: center;">Centered within extra div tag</div></div>:

@Vchimpanzee: Hi! No, I didn't. I just encountered these topics, and to me they seemed somewhat different. I just wanted to make sure that mixing those is not a mistake. Or I simply could be wrong, and the false memory and paramnesia are just two names of one concept (or they're actually different concepts but the difference is so small that splitting them into two separate articles wouldn't make any sense). --Piramidion 17:49, 30 June 2019 (UTC)

Ouch. Both of you have been edit-warring, and that needs to stop immediately as it could result in you (plural) being blocked from editing; you may want to look at WP:BRD, which suggests a best practice when you find yourself in a content dispute with another editor. I'd leave a note at the IP's talk page asking that they engage with you at the article's Talk page, where I see you've raised the issue. If they don't respond after, say, a week or so, I would say that you can take that as implicit permission to reinsert your edit. If they revert you again after that, they're clearly not operating in good faith. At that point you'll have let them know you wished to discuss the issue, and made the first move to start such a discussion, both of which you can point to if there are concerns regarding your own editing patterns. Unfortunately it can take time and patience to try to work these things out; try to remember that for most WP edits there's no deadline. I already reported the edit-warring on the appropriate noticeboard, but today an admin forced me to start this discussion (I'd call it meaningless for the reasons I already mentioned on those pages), so I was unsure about what my next step should be. Блокування

Добрий день. Шановний Piramidion, звертаюся до вас таким чином, тому що не маю можливості написати вам на сторінку обговорення в Укрвікі. Мене заблокував користувач yakudza під надуманим приводом. Я повідомив користувачу goo3, що маю намір номінувати його на позбавлення прав адміністратора. Як я зрозумів, він попросив yakudza заблокувати мене, щоб я не зміг створити номінацію й представити спільноті докази систематичних порушень goo3. Після цього навіть стер мої повідомлення зі сторінки обговорення goo3 (можете подивитися в історії). Таке вже було 2021 року, коли я підняв питання порушень goo3 в кнайпі, yakudza заблокував мене під приводом використання проксі. Хоча проксі я не використовував, а подальша перевірка не підтвердила це і мене розблокували. Прошу вас розблокувати мене, оскільки не порушував правил і не збираюся цього робити, також не знаю, хто такий bodladub.
