You are cordially invited to List of Kim Possible episodes, where it has been requested that you "finish" the tables for seasons 2-4 so that they no longer have placeholders for the pictures that you removed.

Creating formatting problems and leaving them for other users to fix is a disruption of Wikipedia and a breach of etiquette.

Request for help

Big favor to ask: I've gotten into a dispute due to an edit that I reverted on 2 July over at the Supergirl entry; my change is disputed and argued over at the Talk:Supergirl#Kara Zor-El page. Since you're an editor whose work I respect, I'd appreciate it very much if you could serve as an objective observer and express an opinion about the dispute at the Talk page. As I've said there, I'm willing to abide by whatever resolution an objective, experienced observer might suggest. On newcomers and biting

edit

You may want to reconsider how, exactly, you want to phrase this talk page response. The user to whom you're responding is obviously not wiki-savvy (he doesn't even know how to tilde-sign his IP address yet) and, if he is who he says he is, has probably borne witness to a rather profound, senseless tragedy. If someone comes up with a bad idea while trying to be helpful, it is not necessary to insult him ("...is this what passes for a tech school sophomore's literacy level these days?"). Just tell him no and why.

Though I won't refactor your comment, I would ask that you read Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers and seriously weigh whether or not you want that kid to read what you wrote when he checks back to see if anyone responded to his concerns. --Dynaflow babble 17:25, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Poison Ivy

edit

Hi. I've reverted your reversion. I'm addressing this here so we can discuss it rather than go through a pointless edit war. Poison Ivy's status as a bisexual has never been confirmed, only insinuated. I just want to be accurate. We can't label the character as LGBT based on assumption. Can you verify her bisexuality with a reliable source? A gx7 12:23, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

While I agree that it has been indicated many times that Ivy is a possible bisexual,

the evidence you have provided is still not conclusive. We can't allocate categories that depend on a certain interpretation or assumption; this is a place of facts. Let's be honest, not much thought goes into it. Lesbian tendancies are freqently used for titillation. They don't prove a character's orientation. Until DC have definitively categorised Ivy as bisexual then I don't think we should either. A gx7 06:39, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think your edits were reasonable, as long as you're sure it was sexual gratification she displayed from the snuff film and not generic villainous sadism. And you're right, if there was a "comic book characters in the closet" category it would fit about 50 characters (with about 48 coincidences of them being attractive females). Kim Possible Final Airdate

edit

Hi. I recently noticed your edit to the Kim Possible article. I have replaced your edit with mine concerning the airdate. Despite that the final episode has yet to air, we know when it will air thus completing the season and show (unless there is a fifth season in the works). I feel it is necessary to add in the final airdate since it would have been added in eventually. Thank you for your time. TrackFan 18:49, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I disagree with your disagreement. For you see, it can be easily edited to the accordance of when the final episode will air. This has been the same with the American Dragon: Jake Long article. Once production was over for the show and the final airdate known, it was added into the infobox. Disney, however, moved the the final airdate to a later time and the new final airdate was added into the infobox. If Disney does the same for Kim Possible, it can be easily corrected in the article. Power Girl fanfilms

edit

Hey, I want you to know, I reverted the removal of the mention of the Power Girl fanfilms from the main Power Girl page because there was a pretty healthy debate over it when articles about the first two came up for deletion.

I participated in those discussions, and it wasn't a "healthy debate", it was a complete blowout. These fanfilms are of no importance except to their maker's ego. I'm just following up what should have been done in the first place. --Calton | Talk 23:29, 15 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your complaint to myself

edit

It's great that you are here to uphold Wikipedia's strict standards, that is why the site is so great today I am sure.

But you have misunderstood the situation.

Gsmr's comment added nothing to the discussion and was pure spam. We do not need to flood discussion with personal opinions.

The fact that I said "noone gives a sh&t what you think" was in a private message to him, and if he found offense to that, well too bad, he needs to grow up.

It is ridiculous that everyone is so politically correct and worried about stepping on everyone else's toes; there was no profanity of any sorts..... especially since it was in private, I see nothing wrong.

I am one of the users of wikipedia that are careful to make sure it is of the highest quality: editing poor quality out, and supplying my own input from time to time (referenced, and carefully written). Gsmr has a history of vandalism and pointless spam, so I was writing him a message in hopes he would get the point and stop defacing this site in the future. So if he came complaining to you, well, that's just too bad that you've let him pull the wool over your eyes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jovack (talkcontribs)

To Jovack: Actually, the no personal attacks warning was quite appropriate for the situation. User talk pages are not private correspondence, and every Wikipedia user should remember to be civil to one another, even when dealing with people who may not be editing properly. If you want to leave a message with regards to a possible vandal, please take a look at the templates that are available, and use those to warn people regarding such matters - using bad language is not really acceptable in such messages. I see that you've edited out some lines on the main Kim Possible article. While I certainly understand your reasons for doing them, erasing this one sentence puzzles me:

Ron Stoppable

edit

Rv'g colleagues edits bcz you don't grasp the (apparently harmless) markup they are using is vandalism. Stop it.
"WTF", especially in an edit summary, is incivility. Stop it.
I'm normally glad to explain technical tricks to colleagues, and in this case i'll follow thru with the behavior even in the absence of the emotion:

The familiar Wiki markups for links and for section headings each create multiple HTML entities at once:
Link: we might as well call them a link and an anchor. The anchor is what you see on the page that contains that markup; the link is what gets you to the other page or section.
Section: call them heading, target, and ToC entry. The heading is the big type, and some white space; the target is what the browser looks for when someone links to the page with a URL containing a # sign; the ToC entry is some text and a lk to the target.
The markup i used creates the target without any of the rest of the secn apparatus. The purpose is to make a point on the page (OK, really the line in which the point falls) URL-addressable without burdening users with an extra heading and ToC entry. I learned to do it when i noticed that clicking on A7 in an edit summary doesn't land you at a heading. (I don't know where that's documented, tho i've since noticed somewhere a short list of HTML tags that are not thrown away when wiki-markup is scanned, and the statement that most of what you'd want to get by using the others can be done by putting the tag inside a <span/> tag. No, wait a minute, somewhere in MoSDab, i think it's prescribed, tho that's not where i learned it.) If that doesn't help you, ask me a more specific question in a few days, when i'll surely have calmed down.

--Jerzyt 05:30, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • I'm not gonna say i've never seen this, which i ran across in an edit summary(!) but i'm pretty sure i never used it. It sounds like it's probably a more user-friendly mechanism for the same thing, but i haven't studied it. (Also sounds like i may be misusing the word "anchor" in the above.) Gotta run.

Thor (film)

edit

That's an excellent detail you added about the film, citing Favreau on the DVD commentary. But could we please have a timestamp of where this information purportedly appears within the roughly two-hour commentary? Otherwise it's like citing a book without giving a page number.

Also, while not required, it would also be extremely helpful to quote his exact words, since unlike with Web sources, other editors cannot instantly check a DVD track to see if what he says matches the information. You'd be surprised, and I'm sure it's not the case here with you, but I have seen countless times that other editors will take a quote in black-and-white text and say in a Wiki article that the quote says something it doesn't.

Anyway, it is a great piece of information you found, and I hope we can get in fully cited and footnoted. With thanks,--Tenebrae (talk) 14:36, 3 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Afraid I just have the first Iron Man on DVD. (Dude! Hope you find your IM2!) Can't speak for other editors, but that sounds pretty close to a time stamp. Maybe say in the footnote or work it into the prose, "Favreau on the DVD commentary track, when the post-credits scene begins." Thanks again for your good work! --Tenebrae (talk) 22:51, 4 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Starfire revert

You might want to take a look at that edit again - before my removal, there were two exact copies of the information in the section, one right after the other. I simply removed one of the copies. I've reverted it back. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 02:36, 1 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Gah, sorry about that! Completely missed it... rdfox 76 (talk) 03:05, 1 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Just for clarity, no I did not re-start the edits for which I was blocked. And I patiently waited out a month when I was not blocked but had to act as if I were (and because of this no admin would consider an "unblock"). Rich Farmbrough, 15:25, 1 May 2012 (UTC).Reply

Warning

edit

I am just here to say that bias you have against me is plainly obvious, and I am asking you kindly to back off, as I am starting to get annoyed. I am starting to think that you see my username and instinctively hit revert. You pretty much admitted this in your reversion of the 1965 Palm Sunday article. If you would simply do some basic fact checking, this could all be avoided

My change to "Lacon, IL" was sourced via Grazulis, and you obviously reverted because you saw my username, and didn't even check or research the validity of my edit. I would bet money that if any other user made that edit, you wouldn't have reverted it. If you have this idea that I make willy-nilly edits with no basis, then you are mistaken. I dig through hours online resources, old newspaper archives, books, and pdf documents to find my information. I take pride in providing valuable, detailed, and verifiable info on historical tornadic events. Seeing the reversion of all this work is frustrating to say the least. All I ask is for you to trust me a little more, and actually READ the sources and information provided. Sharkguy05 (talk) 04:01, 11 July 2013 (UTC)Sharkguy05Reply

I have reverted him on account of the first reference. I don't think Grazulis should be used when there are more sources. And, of course, he keeps failing WP policies (WP:NPA and WP:ASG). He is the one who needs a warning. United States Man (talk) 04:45, 11 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thunderbolt Siren

edit

I am not "copying" the article, Thunderbolt siren. I am merely fixing it and giving it a NEW PAGE. This is not stealing anything and there is no need to delete it. Merging it is fine, but why delete it? There is good info on my page, so I don't see the need to delete it. JoJoes123 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 20:43, 15 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ship camouflage: your revert

edit

The destroyer escorts built for Britain (the Captain class) were painted originally in US Navy Measure 16 (arctic) camouflage, also known as the Thayer System after its author. The pattern was indeed white with polygons of a pale blue of Thayer's invention, hence its (official USN) name of Thayer Blue. It was defined according to the 1929 Munsell color system as 5B 8/2. WiR Twitter posts

I thought you may be interested. I made a statement to ArbCom regarding the WiR Twitter posts. You mentioned something about hauling the whole project as a party...? starship.paint (talk) 07:02, 15 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Starship.paint In fairness, I was being somewhat sarcastic with the suggestion, though I wouldn't disagree with having whoever was responsible for that series of posts attacking Fram being included. I'll look over your statement and get back to you. (Sorry if this is a bit brief, but I'm running back and forth to the vet with my parents' dog that I'm petsitting right now, so I'm not certain when I'll be able to respond in any more detail.) rdfox 76 (talk) 14:17, 15 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I forgot to update you, I already added "Whoever operated the @WikiWomenInRed Twitter account to post about WP:FRAM," as an involved party. starship.paint (talk) 14:32, 15 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Weather: Map Dot & Template/Infobox Colors

edit

Dear project member, This message is being sent out to encourage new ideas and feedback on those proposed in regard to the colors debate for WikiProject Weather. For those who are unaware of what's been happening over the last year, I will give a brief summary. We have been discussing proposed changes to the colors of the dots on tropical cyclone maps and templates and infoboxes across the entire weather project in order to solve issues related to the limited contrast between colors for both normal vision as well as the various types of color blindness (MOS:ACCESS). We had partially implemented a proposal earlier this year, however, it was objected to by a number of people and additional issues were presented that made it evident this wasn't the optimal solution. We tried to come up with other solutions to address the issues related to color contrast, however, none of them gained traction and no consensus was generated.

We need your help and I encourage you to propose your own scale and give feedback on those already listed. Keep in mind that we are NOT making a decision on any individual proposal at this time. We are simply allowing people to make proposals and cultivate them given feedback from other project members. Please visit our project page for additional details. The proposal phase will close no later than December 31st at 23:59 UTC. NoahTalk 04:09, 21 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have a somewhat abandoned draft article you can help me with

edit

I invite you and anyone else who wants to to edit Draft:list of particularly dangerous situation watches. It seems as if that article has sorta been forgotten about. We’ve only gotten down to 2020 (for completely listed and in some cases not even that far) and if I recall, the entries only go back to 2018. There’s still a lot more in IEM archives. Your help at expanding the list to mainspace ready format would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
