Dear Sarek, please, don't pay attention to that notice; like I told my friend LaraLove a couple of days ago, it's there for mere decorative purposes, as the requests keep coming... and I simply can't turn them down! :) So this means, yes, I'll gladly redesign your userpage, and that very soon; in fact, as soon as you let me know about the preferences you may have in terms of color, or layout. Or, if you prefer, you may let me weave my imagination upon it. Just let me know this, and I'll put myself to work :) Love, <b><font color="#009900">P<font color="#00AA00">h<font color="#00BB00">a<font color="#00CC00">e<font color="#00DD00">d</font>r</font>i</font>e</font>l</b> - 21:16, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

I'd be down for it as long as it was south of Bangor area... Bangor's a 2hr drive for me, and going that far to meet only one or two people would be pointless imo.... if we had commitments from enough people however, I wouldnt have a problem traveling that far. Keep me informed as to who contacts you, and what your plans are. &nbsp;<font color="#FA8605">ALKIVAR</font>&trade; <span style="font-size:130%; background:yellow; border:1px solid black;">&#x2622;</span> 00:24, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

I deleted an earlier version of this article this morning that was lifted almost entirely from the Spectator article. The contributor was DaveBulge, and I gave him some advice on this kind of article. It's an awfully ambitious project to create an appropriately sourced (i.e., ironclad) article of this kind as your very first article, and I don't think the editor understands what is expected in such circumstances. Hi! Thanks for the comments about this article. As you have seen, I am in the process of expanding this article to meet the notability guidelines. I am currently editing it, and I have just added some of the references you mention. I realise I should have probably removed the prod noticed after I finished, but I had intended dong it yesterday, and forgot so I was panicking to get the article improved before it got deleted, as the prod was overdue. Whoops!!

Ancient vs. Antient

We seem to be having a project wide revert war over whether to use "Ancient" (with a "c") or "Antient" (with a "t"). We need to hammer this out and reach a consensus, and we should do so in one central location. Since this impacts several articles, I have started a thread at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Freemasonry#Ancients vs. Antients... consensus? to be that central location. Please discuss at that thread. Thank you, Blueboar 13:39, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Rob Morris

I happened to take a look at Mackey's Encyclopedia today, and he has an entry on Morris, but there's less info on him than you already have. He was involved in a lot of stuff, though, so it may be a matter of cross-referencing from other material as opposed to a straight biography. MSJapan 01:21, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for checking -- it was fun researching the material for the article. Anything you can find to add, please do.--SarekOfVulcan 01:36, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

WP:NPA

What are you referring to? I haven't made any in a long time.►Chris Nelson 01:57, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, I just don't consider any of that a personal attack. It's all true and there's tons of proof.►Chris Nelson 16:51, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Tom Smith Article up for Deletion

RFC bot

Due to the CAPTCHA mechanism being implemented, it caused the bot to log off. I have put the bot back online and the RFC pages will be updated shortly. MessedRocker (talk) 20:07, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Would you mind taking a look at Living Church of God? User:Webrown70 is in the midst of a major rewrite of the article. I'm not entirely comfortable with the edits because of the appearance of WP:COI problems (see his/her talk page) and heavy reliance on LCG self-published sources. Pairadox 18:40, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Well, I started cleaning up the referencing style. I have no major problem with self-published sources, as long as they don't make claims they can't back up. I did trim down the number of external links, though: didn't think we needed to have every language they publish in.--SarekOfVulcan 21:45, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for looking at it. Personally I don't mind SPS in a lot of cases, but according to WP:SPS they really shouldn't be used when it involves claims about third parties (independent accounting reports, Neilsen ratings) and if the article is based primarily on such sources. Pairadox 00:23, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your editing of the article. As for the claims about third parties making certain statements, I see where you are going. However, the comment in the article about "independent accounting reports" is verifiable. If you look in the pdf document cited, there is an actual letter from the accounting firm that confirms the claim made in the article. Thanks again.Webrown70 21:20, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Clifford Borg

With reference to your note below:

Clifford Borg Hi there. I just came across your Clifford Borg article, and while I was searching for information to confirm his notability, I found that the biography was lifted word for word from another site. Please fix this. Also, please review the notability guidelines and make sure that this article addresses them, or someone will come along and nominate it for deletion. I think he may meet them: without more information, though, someone may disagree with me. Good luck improving this article!--SarekOfVulcan 15:41, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

He gave me all the rights... he gave me all the text and images to insert on the wikipedia since he does not know how to do it and I offered my help .. you can see his email below:

Dear Sarek, please, don't pay attention to that notice; like I told my friend LaraLove a couple of days ago, it's there for mere decorative purposes, as the requests keep coming... and I simply can't turn them down! :) So this means, yes, I'll gladly redesign your userpage, and that very soon; in fact, as soon as you let me know about the preferences you may have in terms of color, or layout. Or, if you prefer, you may let me weave my imagination upon it. Just let me know this, and I'll put myself to work :) Love, Phaedriel - 21:16, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

TWINKLE

I have been doing antivandalism work by the bucketful for the last few months. I use VP which is nice (albeit with a few new unresolved bugs lately). I have looked at Twinkle's page before. Q: How do you modify your .js page? When clicking on the link I get a R/O text file out of Firefox. If I modify it, how do you send back the changes to .js to the server? (you can email me the answers if you want or put in my talk page, whichever you prefer). Thx. Alexf(Talk/Contribs) 19:41, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Angelo's Civita Farnese

A prod template has been added to the article Angelo's Civita Farnese, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with db-author. Phgao 16:34, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Sorry I did miss that, if I saw it of course I would have waited. As a new page patroller, I tag articles that just come out so of course they would be tagged straight away, but I apologise and if you can get it referenced, feel free to remove all tags! Thanks! Phgao 16:41, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:CCARlogo.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:CCARlogo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Hey. It looks like your reversion to re-insert an image overwrote a few copyedits. Screwing up on occasion is no big deal, but you might want to start being more careful if this happens often. --Kizor 12:09, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Anyway, thanks for helping with Firefly's image copyright issues. Those things are a *****. --Kizor 12:11, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

No worries - though I have noticed, and it only took three years, that backing down and walking away from the computer tends to be a better option than editing when enraged. (Things like heated policy arguments and AfDs in their final stages are naturally exceptions.) --Kizor 19:42, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Maine Architectural Trail reference formatting

Hi -- I just saw your Beth Eden Chapel article for a NRHP in Maine, and another also announced at the WP:NRHP page. I've been adding complex PDF file references to many NRHP/NHL articles for a while, and was encouraged to use a reference formatting that showed the PDF file size, that is "named" and hence easy to call repeatedly, and had some other advantage, i am not exactly sure what, but the referencing starts out differently. I edited the reference in Beth Eden Chapel to the Maine Architectural Trail to "improve" it in this way, giving it name "metrail" for Maine (ME) Trail. To cite the same reference again in the same article, you would invoke it by . If you are embarking on creating an entry for every site in that Trail guide, please consider this variation of usage. Any which way, welcome to NRHP if you are new to it, and keep up the good work! Doncram 00:01, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the explanation, Doncram: I was a bit confused when I saw that edit. I'm not convinced the ref is better this way, but adding the size was definitely useful. I'm hoping I can expand those articles a bit with some more local research -- if nothing else, I can run my camera down to Brooklin. :-)--SarekOfVulcan 13:54, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Good, glad you understand. BTW, there was a typo, an omitted keystroke, within the reference, that i just fixed. As if to underscore getting a good reference model is not easy. It displays the filesize better now. By all means take a photo, those are worth 500 words or more....  :) doncram 20:02, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Another tip. On the E. B. White House article, i noticed the NRHP infobox was sparse. Perhaps you are not yet aware of the Elkman infobox generator tool for NRHP infoboxes? It is based on the NRIS system, and is very handy, though its output usually can use some editing. I used it to fill out some more fields in the infobox. doncram 20:21, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Oh, that's a sweet one. :-) Thanks for the pointer!--SarekOfVulcan 20:31, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:LimberjackDonnelly.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:LimberjackDonnelly.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

 1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add , without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
 2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Gnome Economics 08:14, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Re: PowerNap

It seemed like it, but if you check out the articles (both can be found online) you will likely agree that notability is not indicated (only in part because they are both Cleveland papers reporting on a Cleveland business). If you disagree, by all means create the article (in the past I've had no qualms about creating articles that someone else had already declined, though it's usually involved extra work on my part to show notability). I'll take a look! First off, are you aware that your sig looks like a bunch of boxes? --Fang Aili talk 18:33, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
Nope, I wasn't. On my machine, it looks like this:. It's a Unicode string: if more people complain about its appearance, I'll flip it back. I was just tickled by being able to have a weird sig that didn't add tons of markup. --uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 18:40, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
Might be your browser fonts, Fang. I noticed that Chinese and Japanese characters appeared as boxes in my browser until I applied the language packs for the two languages. A Wizard of Mars

Thanks for the link. I'm happy to see that the ERB estate has permitted such.

I acknowledge that no one person will necessarily act in full compliance with rules. Having said that, I didn't state earlier that I stated immediately upon the offer to "get me in the Masons" that I said I couldn't, that the employer responded emotionally, saying "But we're losing members" in a tone of abject despair, and continued to basically harass me on becoming a member for a full week thereafter until I got one of the other officers of the firm to talk to him. I do not take the full nature of the discussion as being necessarily regular for freemasonry in general, given that individual's widely acknowledged tendencies toward emotionalism and self-aggrandizement, but didn't think to question the possibility of the "offer" itself not being at least acceptable by the rules. John Carter 15:33, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

 1. I don't know if it's something that involves permission... We'll have to wait a while to find out. :-)
 2. Ok, definitely out of line. Thanks for the clarification.--uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 15:38, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Your deletion closure

Hi, regarding your closure of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lee Jones (author), I don't plan on making a big stink out of this, but since I see you are on admin coaching, let me say I find this kind of closure inappropriate. It's really still totally out of process - if you look at Wikipedia:Speedy keep, you'll find speedy keeps are really just for dealing with bad-faith nominations or other similar irregularities, and for the special case where everybody including the nominator agrees on keeping. None of this applied here. There really is no such thing as a legitimate speedy keep simply because of strong and early consensus. There would have been no harm in simply waiting out the process to run its course, so WP:IAR doesn't apply either. There was no good reason to ignore all rules, especially since an admin (me) had explicitly asked not to do that. Overruling such a request, in the absence of a pressing need, comes across as disrespectful.

And if you are going to cite WP:SNOW now, well, read it: SNOW is not an invitation for you to break proper process; it's an invitation for me to not dig in my heels now that you have (unfortunately) already broken it. Which is exactly what I'm going to do now, so don't worry. Still, just saying.

Fut.Perf. 00:04, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

crossposted from FP's talk
Concerns noted, WP:SNOW read in full. Thanks for the advice.
I thought that everyone except the nom had voted keep, and that the nom had all but withdrawn it because of the added sourcing. I had missed your "conditional delete" above. I apologize for that.--uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 01:20, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your note. Given your evidence that - despite appearances - it was not nonsense, I have undeleted the article, and then re-deleted it on the correct grounds of CSD A7: "Article about a person, group, company, or web content that does not indicate the importance of the subject." Warofdreams talk 04:32, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Patricia Stoddard

A tag has been placed on Patricia Stoddard requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Shriners.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Shriners.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:31, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Amazon price = bad idea

Two arguments:

 1. Wikipedia:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Wikipedia_is_not_a_directory (i.e. policy)
 2. The price range goes through two orders of magnitude and changes all the time. It's like quoting the current season or current temperature for a country. The price range (at this instant) is now 1.23 to 450.00? Why just link Amazon ? Why not every online bookseller ?

Response: PHA Star

Huh. I wrote the info about the founding of GGC, and I never realized that the date was after PHA's founding. Nice catch on the rewrite.

Is there a PHA headquarters comparable to the GGC's headquarters in DC, or is each state independent, like the Grand Lodge system?--uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 01:24, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Please don't reinstate the "exposes errors" phraseology. It is incumbent upon us to exercise care in regards to living people under WP:BLP. I've asked for administrator intervention on the BLP Noticeboard, and I think the more neutral wording should remain until there is further input from that source.--Samiharris (talk) 16:58, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Seems the issue has been settled by reference to the Howard Kurtz article, so I am ok with your original language. Seems Klein did admit it! Now we have good independent sourcing saying so, and I think the article is better this way.--Samiharris (talk) 19:07, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Your "clean up" seems questionable

Why is it that every article I've ever edited is on your "clean up" list. What AWB are you using? Your edits appear to be that of Wikistalking since they are all articles I have edited in the last month. CelticGreen (talk) 22:13, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Scratch that. It appears you are Wikistalking IrishLass, we just have worked on some of the same Days pages. CelticGreen (talk) 22:18, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
I took a look at these edits. While I don't think you are trying to distress anyone and nothing about your edits themselves looks disruptive, you should know that people can get kinda weirded out by being followed around like that, and I think it's pretty clear you've been doing that recently. I can give you suggestions for other ways to find articles to work on if you're interested. Mangojuicetalk 05:44, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi,

Little update, the URL of CodeProject article i shared with you is changed to http://www.codeproject.com/KB/office/Word2Help.aspx . Moreover, Unedited Reader Contribution doesn't mean Self-Published Article. If you check this term explained here: http://www.codeproject.com/script/Articles/Unedited.aspx , you will see that all articles that are submitted to www.Codeproject.com through their submission wizard gets this status and with the passage of time, they move it to other specific categories based upon their popularity. Anyways, i just found it and shared with you as it is.

I want to share another notable source with you that i just found. Rihannsu

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Rihannsu, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add db-author to the top of Rihannsu. Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang

We don't hide or relegate spoiler warnings - Doomsday (Doctor Who) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) got promoted to FA and half of the lead is on about the ending of the episode. It's a moot point anyway - the episode's already aired in America. Additionally, the comment about the hologram types helps the image support the text in two ways instead of the current one. Speedy deletion

Hey there, I've taken the liberty of again removing the Speedy deletion template. Firstly, A1 refers to a lack of context to fails to identify the subject of the article. This is clearly not the case here. Secondly, schools are not SD'd. This is the general consensus. Questionable notability is for WP:AFD. Cheers. Wisdom89 (T / C) 01:47, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Nevermind dude, I was confused when you said "content" instead of "context". It does fail A1. I have reinstated the SD tag. Cheers mate. Wisdom89 (T / C) 02:01, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

re: RFC/U

Had I seen more RFCs like yours I probably would not have said that "most RFC/U's came down to WP:IDONTLIKEHIM." To me what most RFCs lack is objective evidence in the form of diffs. There should be a list of applicable policies and guidelines, diffs to show the problem for each policy or guideline, diffs to show attempts to resolve the problem, and diffs to show that the attempts failed to solve the problem. (See my comments at Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Whig_3#Outside_view_by_Sbowers3 and Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Strider12#Outside_view_by_Sbowers3.)

I did not actually read through the diffs, but at least the diffs are there, so outsiders can easily evaluate the evidence. Almost more important than the diffs showing a problem is the diffs showing attempts to resolve the problem and failing to resolve. You have a good set of diffs from the other two people who tried and failed.

My only quibble is stylistic. I would have listed the policy or guideline, then listed the appropriate diffs under each one. You had a lot of prose (with embedded diffs) at the beginning and then listed the policies/guidelines. I'd have started with one policy, then listed the diffs under it with relatively little prose, then the next policy and diffs, etc. But that's just a matter of personal style. The key thing is providing objective evidence in the form of diffs.

If all RFCs provided diffs then maybe there would be more involvement by outsiders perusing the evidence, instead of a lot of piling on by editors who had a previous involvement with either the accused or the accuser(s).

(Disclaimer: I am not exactly in the upper tier of experienced editors. I'm just a guy who tries to help out here and there. I don't take myself too seriously and I hope nobody else does.) Sbowers3 (talk) 23:47, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks very much for the unbiased evaluation. I like my style of writing, but I can lead with the Policy/Diffs section and follow up with the extended commentary. If I think of it next time I get so involved with a dispute that I'm willing to put that much effort into it. :-)--uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 05:04, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:AdricTeganNyssaFive.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:AdricTeganNyssaFive.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:22, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

I see you removed the prod on this article stating that "playing for Manchester United, right? Sounds pro to me". However, he has never actually played for them, and thus fails WP:ATHLETE. Taking this into consideration, would you mind re-instating the prod? Cheers, пﮟოьεԻ 57 18:55, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes, I would mind. He will meet the requirements soon: I see no reason to delete the article while we wait.

Erm, that is how WP:ATHLETE is worded at the moment, i.e. "Competitors who have competed in a fully professional league". He hasn't competed in a fully professional league as he has never played a game. Also, "He will meet the requirements soon" is a violation of WP:CRYSTAL. пﮟოьεԻ 57 21:29, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

RfA

Hi Sarek. Just thought I would let you know that I have taken the liberty of asking a question on your RfA. At the moment I am leaning towards support, but I think it will help me and others come to a proper decision if you could talk a little about the WP:CRYSTAL/WP:ATHLETE thing. I really don't think that it is a black and white issue, or at least it shouldn't be, but I'm interested to hear what you think about it. Thanks for your time, Rje (talk) 00:52, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Aye, I just find it's best for a candidate to leave that to others. During my run, I avoided all other RFA discussions, didn't tally my own votes, etc. to each his own, I suppose? Best of luck. –xenocidic (talk) 20:05, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Request to move article Bar Harbor (town), Maine incomplete

You recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page Bar Harbor (town), Maine to a different title - however your proposal is either incomplete or has been contested as being controversial. As a result, it has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.

Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:

 1. Added NewName at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
 2. Added to the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved, to automatically create a discussion section there.
 3. Added to the top of today's section here.

If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 08:27, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

 7. Commenter had problems with sig, and with response to Alexf -- explained why I didn't see the need to change before, and clarified that I had known Alexf for a long time
 8. No response
 9. Commenter didn't think I answered #3 -- tried to clarify my response
 10. No response
 11. Commenter said I dismissed constructive criticism and had a prior history of not getting along with others - addressed "constructive criticism" only.

 1. Remember you will always protect the wrong version.
 2. Remember you must always follow the rules, except for when you ignore them. You will always pick the wrong one to do. (See #5)
 3. Remember to assume good faith and not bite. Remember that when you are applying these principles most diligently, you are probably dealing with a troll.
 4. Use the block ability sparingly. Enjoy the insults you receive when you do block.
 5. Remember when you make these errors, someone will be more than happy to point them out to you in dazzling clarity and descriptive terminology.
 6. and finally, Remember to contact me if you ever need assistance, and I will do what I am able.

Admin recall

For what it's worth, I think you might very much want to specificy what the terms of any potential recall on your user page. The terms I've seen that seem to work best are (1) tell you if you acted improperly, so that you could effectively self-recall if warranted, and (2) ask parties wishing to recall you to file an RfC regarding the matter. Unfortunately, everybody will make enemies, and you want to ensure that it won't be just your enemies commenting on the matter, so an RfC seems to evidently many to be the best way to go. Just an idea, anyway. John Carter (talk) 01:51, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Improvements necessary to keep Rosa Parks as a Featured Article

As with most articles promoted so long ago, this article does not currently meet the Featured Article criteria. Since you have been a major contributor to the article, I would appreciate your help to bring this article up to the current standards. Please don't take this as an insult to the article, as it is well-written and there shouldn't be a lot of work necessary.

I have listed my concerns on the article's talk page. I would like to get this up to the current standards without going through a Featured Article review, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks, GaryColemanFan (talk) 20:19, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Neve Gordon page

You recently reverted this page. Thank you for your help, but you will notice in the talk page that the source is mistaken. There is a conflicting source by Campus Watch and others who say that it was overturned. Therefore, I went to the original source - right here. And the final paragraph says explicitly what the verdict says, that the verdict was not withheld. It is therefore the most accurate. Please do not remove this information again, if you will. With respect, Amoruso (talk) 21:49, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

I removed the Campus watch source, because one might feel it's redundant I guess, but I kept the verdict one. It is the best possible source. Amoruso (talk) 22:05, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Btw, the version you kept is just factually wrong. It did not find that Gordon exaggerated and it did not withhold the verdict. There were different publications involved and the court only withheld the ruling regarding one of these publications - it too only be majority of 2:1, and because of other reasons - Gordon being a professor who used very harsh language himself in the court's opinion - did they award a small amount. Amoruso (talk) 22:10, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
I'm all for talk page, but he doesn't use it. I think he's the problem here. I won't RV anymore, but provided he should engage in talk and dispute resolution and not just hold the belief that he's right contrary to evidence. Amoruso (talk) 16:40, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Bit fast on the trigger?

I do take your point, but at the same time it does look more than likely it's going to be deleted. If I had created such an article I'd prefer to know that it could, and is likely to be speedied, before I spent too much time working on it. As far as I'm aware there's no way of warning a user that a page is likely to be speedied without actually placing the tag on it. Two additons reasons I tagged this quickly are a) the page wasn't formatted properly and b) the firm was only formed this year. Dpmuk (talk) 21:06, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

No, I didn't know about Friendly, but I did know about the notability tag. However, IMO, that tag isn't fair warning for something that may be speedied, possibly in less than a couple of hours (there's plenty of admins out there that wouldn't be as lenient as you - that's not having a go, just my experience. I have saved an article myself on it's second creation that I thought had been speeided too quickly the first time and was tagged for being speedied again). In my mind "If notability cannot be established, the article is more likely to be considered for redirection, merge or ultimately deletion" doesn't even hint at the speedy process, at least the speedy tag makes it clear. Is there merit in creating a "warning this article could be speedied tag" for when an article is currently not up to scracth but not beyond saving? I'd no idea where to raise such an idea or where to look to see if it's been raised before. Dpmuk (talk) 21:16, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Raised at Village Pump, here. We'll see what happens. Dpmuk (talk) 21:40, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

So them Sarek, can something be done about the continual reverting? Even if SMA is theoretically allowed (which I don't believe it is), it seems to me it ALSO fails in the simple fact we're not supposed to have an abundances of ELs in general, and since there are already a number of 100% free archives on the list, SMA isn't even 'needed' as such. Again, I really don't want a WP:3RR block over this, but I can't in good faith allow these two to keep pushing what I assume is their site that they are making money from. ♫ Melodia Chaconne ♫ (talk) 17:06, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Help in moving definition from Sandbox

Hi SarekOfVulcan,

I am trying to add a definition of "Credit Research Foundation," that keeps getting instantly deleted. I am a staff member of the organization. I must admit, I am totally confused by the myriad of rules, regulations and definitions that rival the most arcane and confounding legal jargon I ever encountered. Anyway, I've put up a short, banal, insipid definition of Credit Research Foundation that hopefully won't even offend a Wikipedia Administrator's grandmother. I put it in my "sandbox" area.

Please, can you tell me how I could get that moved into an article or whatever it is referred to on "Credit Research Foundation?" Any help you could give me would be deeply appreciated!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Crfonline (talkcontribs) 14:59, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

As the officers of the NON-PROFIT, who are involved in making the policies of the organization, as well as have access to all of the founding documents, such as the articles of incorporation, should constitute verifiable information. Also, a related organization, the National Association of Credit Managers (SIC) - it should be Management - has a description article.
Please, what does it take to get a very simple, generic description of the Credit Research Foundation into Wikipedia? I thought the concept existed to provide the public free access to information on a hosts of topics, organizations, people, etc. That's all we're trying to do in a non-promotional way.
Thank you.

Re your message: No problem. When I delete attack articles, I check the editor's other contributions to see if anything else needs to be reverted or deleted.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:15, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

As you have also reverted a few of his edits on the page I was wondering if you had an idea of what steps to take as this edit war seems to be continuing constantly. J.R. Exclusive

Hi there. I noticed you deleted J.R. Exclusive. I was the one who nominated it for speedy deletion, but it was declined by User:SarekOfVulcan. He subsequently made some improvements to the article. Just thought I'd let you know in case it was a mistake, rather than a purposeful disagreement with his decision. Cheers.... justinfr (talk) 14:38, 14 August 2008 (UTC) By the way, thanks for taking care of all that Chiacig crap. justinfr (talk) 14:39, 14 August 2008 (UTC) Thanks, Justin, I was just coming over to say that. :-) None of the improvements I made involved finding sourcing to establish notability, though, so I'm not going to dispute it.--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 14:59, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

J.R. is not just a mixtape producer. "Beat Without Bass" didnt make Freekey Zekey's (From Diplomat/Asylum Records) because of clearing the rights from Lil Wayne to be on the track. Since it was not on the album it was put on the mixtape instead. If you type in "Beat Without Bass" on Google you will get 12.5 million listing. "Beat Without Bass was the number 2 played song on satellite radio for 2 months in a row in 2007. If you need more notability I have a interview with a Canadian magazine called Champ Magazine and it is on youtube (5:33 sec snippet interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvjNjZaczAw). Champ Magazine also has a website. He was the producer of the month for the magazine sometime in the fall of 2007.

Whats wrong with my posting underneath? I have sources. J.R. had a interview by a major Canadian Magazine Champ Magazine. He produced songs for artist's under Universal records subsidiaries:

Thanks for your help

Hi, and thanks for your help with the article Order of the Collar of Saint Agatha. I tried to develop the article by adding many scholarly references, both literary and from the Internet, but as I had guessed this was all rejected by Yopie. I have spent many hours researching this, finding both old documents and official archives relevant to the history. I retained all of Yopie's criticism, followed a structure for the article proposed by an Admin on 30 May, and simply tried to widen the perspective by adding what seems to be highly relevant references. Please check my version of the article. I tried to add everything relevant both for and against their credibility, but Yopie rejects everything that doesn't fit his own POV. Surely Yopie can't have monopoly on the views nor which facts should be presented? I don't wish to engage in an edit war as there seems to have been earlier. Anything you can do to help will be much appreciated.StevenB (talk) 16:16, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
