In the section about honors etc the article currently says: “Despite his lack of higher education, he has been honored in his home state.” This, as it reads, cannot possibly be what is meant - it’s perhaps a hangover from previous edits. Can someone who knows the topic please reword to avoid this monstrosity? Thanks! Best wishes DBaK (talk) 18:20, 13 October 2018 (UTC) |

⚫ | General Yeager spent a lot of hours and got his professors to spend a lot of hours just to get Ed Dwight thru the school. General Yeager did not have say over whom NASA picked but they picked the top of the class, not the bottom, where Dwight was. Contrary to Dwight's excuses, everyone tried to help Dwight get thru, not avoid him. |
||
⚫ | The Black Caucus from Congress investigated and exonerated Yeager and praised him. So please remove this self-serving sour grapes of Dwight. He became a great sculptor - a better place. He just wanted the publicity of being an astronaut, not wanting to better the program. There were far more talented black pilots than Ed Dwight and they speak highly of General Yeager |

:Because you never provide any sources for your information. If the Black Caucus of the US Congress investigated and exonerated Yeager, provide us with a source that says so. If Victoria won the legal battle against Susan Yeager, provide us with the reliable verifiable source that tells us that. If Victoria was a consultant and has an MBA, that information can be included as long as it’s properly sourced. ::Yes, technically you need to link a url to a article written by a publication that has a history of reporting facts. WP:RS is a good place to see what is commonplace for citations on this site. From the Washington Post Chuck Yeager obituary: |
|||
The page makes it appear that he dropped from Captain all the way back to 2nd Lieutenant in 1947. Is that true or am I misreading it? If it's true, seems like the page should have something about why that happened. If it's not true, and it's related to Army -> Air Force transition or something without an actual loss of rank, that should be clarified as well. Either way, feels like more clarity is needed about his rank transitions. Cjbreisch (talk) 15:45, 14 October 2022 (UTC) |

There is no acceptable time in the modern world, historical or otherwise to use the word "nigger". Since this is not a page about the factual, or historical context of slavery, then there should be at the very least a warning to those who may be of African American descent, that racist language is present. And while I am completely for free speech as it relates to history and what has been said by those who have made history, there are those who may find that word triggering. So please consider a warning for the article. 75.91.153.48 (talk) 06:46, 3 November 2023 (UTC) |

Ed Dwight
[edit]The only information that you have is from Ed Dwight. However, all the records from the time show that what Ed Dwight says in the documentary and in his book is false. General Yeager spent a lot of hours and got his professors to spend a lot of hours just to get Ed Dwight thru the school. General Yeager did not have say over whom NASA picked but they picked the top of the class, not the bottom, where Dwight was. Contrary to Dwight's excuses, everyone tried to help Dwight get thru, not avoid him. The Black Caucus from Congress investigated and exonerated Yeager and praised him. So please remove this self-serving sour grapes of Dwight. He became a great sculptor - a better place. He just wanted the publicity of being an astronaut, not wanting to better the program. There were far more talented black pilots than Ed Dwight and they speak highly of General Yeager
Victoria Yeager was not an actress at the time she met General Yeager. She was a consultant for non-profits. She had an MBA in finance from Columbia University.
Victoria Yeager won also against Susan Yeager - all her charges were found to be false.
