A year on Wikipedia has proved more than enough for me to get tired of the place. For every decent page there are a hundred horrible pages, beset by uninformed morons pushing tedious agendas.

I will probably linger to try and police a few pages that I have edited in the past, but my heart is increasingly not in it.

Wikipedia has become nothing more than an encyclopedia of things teenagers know.

Having now been on Wiki for several more years, I no longer feel the need to edit, as in general the site seems to have the critical mass of sensible users to tone down the old teenage nonsense. It still crops up here and there (anything with a pop culture connection is going to be beset by "the best known" trope, which generally means "the one I've heard of"), but it's now a very well policed site. It's also quite fun shooting down the nonsense from time to time.
Just posting this as my bitterness from several years ago has disolved somewhat, and it's got to be said that for all it's faults, Wikipedia is one of the gems of the internet.
