Hello. Why did you undo major and constructive edits by reverting to a prior revision without explanation on Bones (Imagine Dragons song) here? None of that was vandalism, and as an experienced editor, I think you know to not revert constructive edits without explaining why. Please don't do this in future; it's been reverted back. If this is about one aspect that you disagreed with, you could have restored that specific aspect without reverting to a prior revision and undoing a whole lot of changes in the process. I was undoing a singular edit and unintentionally reverted to a much older revision. It was sloppiness on my part, I’ll be more aware in the future. RF23 (talk) 07:00, 28 October 2022 (UTC) |

axolotl article
I found a better source for the addition and added it in.
Regarding Igorrr article
Hello RF23,
Thanks for your interest in starting the Igorrr draft. Writing new Wikipedia articles takes time, especially gathering sources; and unfortunately, since the draft has been denied twice on the basis of unreliable sources, I have no idea nor the effort to look into what went wrong and comply to Wikipedia's standard.
I will leave the draft there as is for others to contribute. It is a disappointment to see a significantly notable artist not having a Wikipedia page whereas many other pages I have noticed yielding to the same WP:V, WP:N errors but go unnoticed.
Thank you again, Potasmic (talk) 22:36, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
- I messaged the person who declined it because I'm absolutely baffled at that decision, since it has multiple sources from reliable mainstream sites like Ultimate Guitar and Allmusic. It's frustrating that it had to go through the draft process in the first place. If I had of just put what's in the draft in an article nobody would have complained, but the article was locked by an administrator because it was "repeatedly re-created" (twice over a 6 year period, which I don't think is the proper amount of times needed to enact a lock, but whatever.). It's even more frustrating because looking back at the very first Articles for Deletion way back in 2015 was a very weak delete with most users stating to keep it pointing out the notability. RF23 (talk) 00:27, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
Hello,
Regarding Savage Sinusoid. The article looks good already. I also want to note that the album has been reviewed by Anthony Fantano (The Needle Drop) as well. Wikipedia's policy is quite tricky about this, with three discussions(!) about Fantano failing WP:SPS, while some claims that he's established enough. Anyways, you could play safe by not including him in there; just a heads up. Potasmic (talk) 04:43, 9 July 2018 (UTC)

I found some new known show from the GNR with Tracii and Rob. But I was watching a portion of a interview that Raz did and he said they did ten. I added two more from the website interview video that GNR did from 1985. I’m not going to upload that picture because I know exactly what’s going to happen if I do. I don’t want to go through that path again. I think we need to find the last 3 shows because 7 are found. I also created this redirect page for purposes for a better article or something, you can said anything on that. I’m not sure if the article will need to state it if we don’t find it soon but still got the article down which states it. Anyways RF23 I hope we find them. Enjoy your edits ARMcgrath (talk) 02:36, 29 June 2018 (UTC)

Anon at List of Pro Bowl players
Thanks for your help monitoring List of Pro Bowl players recently. I think the anon from the 96.139 range is actively trying to help. They have identified 3 or 4 Pro Bowlers that initially escaped my net so far. Unless their edits break the table, don't worry about reverting. I'll come in afterward and add in any details they missed or fix any formatting errors. Thanks again! caknuck ° needs to be running more often 15:51, 5 July 2018 (UTC)
Danielle Moinet requested a picture update
The edit that I have made to Danielle Moinet's (Summer Rae) page was being requested by her on twitter to change the photo on her wikipedia page. No other editing was needed.Jdweisner84 (talk) 09:04, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
- Please educate yourself with wikipedia's copyright policy regards to photos. See Wikipedia:Image use policy. The image is being removed because it's an obvious copyright violation and will be deleted shortly. RF23 (talk) 09:06, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
Photo is not a copyright violation when proper credit has been given to the photo. Model has requested a photo change and photo comes from her own instagram gallery. Jdweisner84 (talk) 09:11, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
- Again, that's not the way photos on wikipedia work. Please educate yourself on the policy. RF23 (talk) 09:12, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
I have read your policies and I am giving credit to the source. The only disruption that is being caused is from you. Jdweisner84 (talk) 09:23, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
- You clearly didn't read them then. Giving credit to the source does not make the image okay to upload, it's still a copyrighted image and can't be used, unless Wikimedia receives explicit permission from the photographer. RF23 (talk) 09:24, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
Block?
Ringerfan23 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I was apparently blocked for violating the 3 revert rule, despite never being warned or talked to about it. I wasn't violating it, I was fixing disruptive editing. User:Jdweisner84 was repeatedly inserting a copyrighted photo into the article, I was reverting him. I warned him on his talk page not to do it and explained why it was not allowed (see directly above). I tried reporting him for vandalism but was told to take it to the edit warring noticeboard, and noticed I was blocked. Section 5 of the 3RR article states exceptions are allowed for "Removal of clear copyright violations or content that unquestionably violates the non-free content policy (NFCC)." which is what I was doing. Please consider unblocking me and removing this unfair block from my record, and take action against the above user. RF23 (talk) 10:37, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
Accept reason:
See below discussion Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:21, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
- Paging User:Ritchie333. This was a case of a user uploading a copyrighted photo, saying it's okay because "he gave the source" and repeatedly re including it despite explanations that that's not how copyright on wikipedia works. It appears he just randomly took a photo from the subject's instagram page and uploaded it. Also, he removed the speedy delete while logged out on commons.RF23 (talk) 10:40, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
- I blocked Jdweisner84 (and the block-evading IP) at the same time. I will unblock you if you promise not to edit this article again. In future, a notice on WP:BLPN is the best course of action. Expecting brand new users to understand our copyright policies is just not realistic, and belittling them about it unhelpful. (Specifically, WP:3RRNO says "What counts as exempt under NFCC can be controversial, and should be established as a violation first. Consider reporting to the Wikipedia:Files for discussion noticeboard instead of relying on this exemption.") Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:05, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
- I realize I probably could have handled that better, but it's very frustrating how much I've dealt with new users coming in and causing disruptions by uploading copyrighted files and not understanding why that's not acceptable. I've been here a while (as have you I'm sure) and I've seen that happen often. I'll stay away from the page for now.RF23 (talk) 11:20, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
- Understand completely and I think you were trying to do the right thing. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:44, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
Limp Bizkit reverts
Hi. Regarding your AIV report, 103.202.148.52 (talk · contribs) has been making undiscussed changes that don't add much value to the article, but I don't think you can categorically prove they made them in a deliberate attempt to make Wikipedia worse. At the moment, nobody has violated any other policy such as WP:3RR so a block isn't really appropriate. I am tempted to block them for complete failure to discuss their changes but I want to try a direct message first. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:12, 9 July 2018 (UTC)

Igorrr Article - pending review
Hi,
I wasn't going to drop this on your page until the draft had either been accepted or I'd concluded the review, but since it has clearly come to your notice I'll speed up my response.
Obviously my reviews don't normally last into the hours. I concluded my initial review in about 30 minutes, and have dropped a couple of messages with others. I've left it under review to avoid additional edits and altered consideration but I'll summarise my position as follows.
Out of a veritable hoard of references, the addition of which must have taken a considerable length of time post the last rejected draft, I came up with a group of 5 that covered the traditional sig cov etc set and actually pertained to Igorrr (not chickens, etc).
Usually I'd have happily passed it at that point, probably with a removal of some unhelpful sources, but given the fact that if it gets added and fails NPP or gets AfDed, it will be a massive nightmare for anyone to readd it, I've queried a couple of others.
I'll de-review it when I finish tonight so it's not stuck in a state of locked, but hopefully I should get a response in the next day.
Yours,
Nosebagbear (talk) 21:06, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, I would appreciate it if you didn't comment on my efforts to review it, I suspect it does not help the discussions. If you are going to, if you think additional passing reasons should be noted, I think it is wise to note that you are a (the) primary content creator before accusations of COIs start being made, especially on the AfC's own review board. Nosebagbear (talk) 21:37, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
Obviously there's a giant green box below, but I thought I'd drop my additional congrats to you for rebuilding it. Nosebagbear (talk) 19:01, 20 July 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:15, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:My michelle single.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. I’m sending as a thank you for giving me advice and helping me become a better Wikipedian. I’ve been saving this for today because it’s been 6 months since I started here. If it wasn’t for you I probably wouldn’t have survived the first month and would have been Blocked Indefinitely. You given me something that no other Wikipedian ever gave me which was guidance and helping others. I’m extremely thankful that I got the actual chance to have someone like you to help out someone who had no idea on what was like being a Wikipedian almost everyday of my life. You’re the reason why I stayed and not only that how matters here work. RF23 I owe you a huge thank you for helping me in this journey as I will continue to make Wikipedia a great place for articles. Even though we’re mostly on separate paths on this place now. I haven’t forgotten what got me doing this everyday in the first place. Thanks Ringer. I hope we can chat again. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Yellowcard-The Underdog EP.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Yellowcard-The Underdog EP.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 4 November 2018 (UTC)

Notice regarding a user script
Hi. Recently, a request was made for someone to revise the User:Bility/convert24hourtime.js user script. I (DannyS712) took up that challenge, and have fixed the bug with the "thanks" button, fixed the bug regarding blocked users, fixed the bug regarding converting the times when examining a diff, and even added the feature to convert times when looking at logs. I have some more features planned, but I thought that, since you are currently importing Bility's script, you may want to know that a less buggy version is available at User:DannyS712/12Hours. Gettyimages
Hey it’s been a while but quick question are you actually allowed to upload a photo from Gettyimages? Anyways thanks. A.R.M. 20:07, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
- Depends on the license; but usually no. They're one of the stricter companies when it comes to copyright (they're actually the reason why Google changed their back-end to the image search a few years back where it used to link directly to an image but now it links to whatever page the image is on). Flickr is usually the best place to find free-to-use photos (a helpful guide is here as well as a tool to help with Flickr uploads.) RF23 (talk) 09:06, 3 May 2019 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Tony Hawk's American Wasteland soudtrack.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Tony Hawk's American Wasteland soudtrack.jpg.
Thank you.

For someone who has such an extensive edit history on Wikipedia, I am surprised you do not know the rules of reliable sources yet. Yes Loud Wire is a reliable source on metal and metal news. But the article is pure speculation. Of course the new guy is Pfaff, it is obvious if you put all the pieces together, but that is not how reliable sources work on Wikipedia unfortunately. The same thing happened with Tobias Forge of Ghost. Everyone knew, but until it was officially announced, it couldn't be posted. Just relax, your life won't change because of this edit. NotAWikiLoser (talk) 04:08, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
- Wouldn't Loudwire saying "Yes this is who it is, we stand by the speculation" count as a reliable source stating it? Is there a policy I missed that states we can only have first person sourcing regarding claims?RF23 (talk) 23:06, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
- The very quote you just used said everything you should need to know, "we stand by the speculation." No one from the band Slipknot has confirmed he is the new member, everything else is speculation because it has not been confirmed by any member of the band or any official spokesperson for the band. Like I said, yeah if you put all the pieces together it is obvious it is him, but until then, you cannot list him under official touring members. I personally don't have a problem if there is a note of it in the body of the article, as long is it is stated that it is speculation, but others might have a problem with that. NotAWikiLoser (talk) 20:40, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
- What I'm saying is that by Loudwire reporting on the speculation, it's them reporting it, and they are a reliable source. I would assume (and I could be wrong) that this isn't just a blog style "here's what people think", they'd actually put a base amount of research into the claims to stand by them. I'm not understanding your objectivtiy to it on the grounds of "The band hasn't reported it", as that is not a sourcing requirement on wiki as far as I'm aware. Anothe reliable source Altpress has reported on it as well. I know that both Jay & Alessandro were included in the article several months before the band revealed their identities (and that section of the article still has large parts related to their being specualtion on it & sources reporting who they were before the band announced it.
- Wouldn't Loudwire saying "Yes this is who it is, we stand by the speculation" count as a reliable source stating it? Is there a policy I missed that states we can only have first person sourcing regarding claims?RF23 (talk) 23:06, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
Would something along the lines of "Tortilla man's identity has not been announced [or keep with the "has been concealed"] by the band, but Louwdire reports his identity to be Micheal Pfaff, previously a member of Crahan's Dirty Little Rabbits." work?RF23 (talk) 23:13, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

"Expand charts"—please don't
Hi. Several months ago, you added four more charts to the singles table on Guns N' Roses discography. Please do not do this. Discography wikitables are not supposed to be exhaustive. They cannot possibly hope to show every chart a group ever appeared on, nor should they attempt to. As I have just said in my edit summaries, all experienced editors of discographies follow WP:DISCOGSTYLE despite it not being a policy. With more than 10 charts, information squashes and gets smaller on some devices, which is an WP:ACCESS problem (and thus in that way violates Wikipedia policy). All of Guns n' Roses' songs have articles—we can list these peaks there (provided they are properly sourced, which they were not here—for example, you cited the Hot 100 chart ref for Mainstream Rock chart peaks). It should be a selection of countries where a musical act performed the best. For a well-charting act like Guns n' Roses, we shouldn't need to resort to even adding US Rock charts. Thanks. Onus and ownership
Hi Ringerfan23, I understand your concerns regarding 51.241.0.169's edits, but edit warring contested content back into a biography of a living person is not really an option. Instead of selectively inviting specific editors to the dispute, an RFC or a third opinion request may be an option.
Despite the edit notice of this talk page, I can't manually reword the following template, yet see a need to place it here as a formal warning to be more careful when editing biographies.
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place
on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

File permission problem with File:Axl child.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Axl child.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add permission pending to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as non-free fair use or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Unexplained revert
Thanks. Ss112 06:15, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
I was undoing a singular edit and unintentionally reverted to a much older revision. It was sloppiness on my part, I’ll be more aware in the future. RF23 (talk) 07:00, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
