TuS Mechtersheim was founded on the 1 March 1914 as Viktoria Mechtersheim. Following the conclusion of World War I the club was reformed as TuS Mechtersheim.

TuS Mechtersheim played from 1914 until the late 1990s in the German amateur leagues, however they were promoted into the Landesliga in 2001 and were then promoted to the Oberliga Südwest in 2004, where they are still playing.
