Urjala is a municipality of Finland.
It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Pirkanmaa region. The municipality has a population of 5,556 (2003) and covers an area of 504.02 km² of which 28.95 km² is water. The population density is 11.7 inhabitants per km².
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
Trivia
- Väinö Linna was born in Urjala, although he is most often referred to be from Tampere where he lived most of his adult life
- The oldest glassblowing factory in Finland is located in the village of Nuutajärvi, Urjala
