Tom McDevitt is the president of the Washington Times, a newspaper in Washington DC, United States.[1] He is a member of the Unification Church and graduated from the church's Unification Theological Seminary. In the early 1980s McDevitt was the pastor of the Unification Church in Washington.[2][3] [4] He later worked for the Times, which was founded in 1982 by church founder Sun Myung Moon and owned by church members, in various positions including vice president. From 2005 to 2007 he worked for the Points of Light Foundation as senior vice president for marketing, communications and recognition. In March 2007 he went back to the Times as president.[5]
In 2002 McDevitt's wife of 20 years, Soon Ja, died. They have five children.[6]
