January 24, 2010 edits
I am reverting a group of recent edits by Youtubek. It looks like there may be some useful information, but the additions are confusing and self-contradictory; they also contradict sourced material already in the article and contain no new source citations themselves. I'm not sure where to begin in any attempt to fix this, so I'm opting for the easy way and sending them back to the drawing boards. Fat&Happy (talk) 23:49, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
- thank you and i understand well can sure how to put citations because there alot i want to add to Coyote Springs, Nevada page becuase there not really alot on there if i post here what i want to add can u put on page
- thanks.
- (Youtubek (talk) 04:25, 26 January 2010 (UTC)).
- If I understand you correctly, you have references for quite a bit of additional material on Coyote Springs, but may need some help in formatting the references for Wikipedia. Although this isn't really one of my articles of great interest (referenced by an article that was referenced by another article that I was editing, lol), I can certainly try to help you with your first few additions. You can post them here on the talk page first; or you could post the facts in the article itself, followed by the URL address of the ref (if on the web) or the information you have (article or book title, author, date published - anything that helps identify and find it), surrounding that information with a <ref> in front and a </ref> after it. Then I'm sure I or another editor could help apply more formatting if needed. Fat&Happy (talk) 01:52, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Material for discussion and consideration

Dispute resolution
I've been watching the back and forth between Vegaswikian and Quayhands. I don't have time to get involved in this editing right now but have observed Vegaswikian making solidly sourced edits and Quayhands making what appears to be WP:OR or unsourced edits. I am appealing to Quayhands to start following policy. Ward20 (talk) 00:11, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- I have restored the page (twice now) to the pre-Back&Forth version. And left a message on Quayhands talk page concerning the need to source his additions and the improper removal of sourced information (as well as the necessary need for edit summaries). I have the page watchlisted. If there is further editing without any discussion, than I will protect the page temporarily until that discussion can occur. — CactusWriter | needles 04:34, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for helping out with this. Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 22:51, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
hi sorry about that guys i wont make any more changes i just felt the article should be shorter i would like to discuss it with you guys see what u think. (Quayhands (talk) 23:11, 19 April 2010 (UTC)).
- I am not certain what your concerns about the article length are. Could you elaborate? — CactusWriter | needles 00:22, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
[[User:CactusWriter i just saw the message here sorry about that here i dont have any concerns i want keep the same length i just would like to add some things and change what i wrote i talk to some of people over coyote springs development and put what they told me into my own words here what i like to add Coyote springs is a vision of a green city of 240,000 residents rising up out of nowhere, transforming a remote area into state-of-the-art city it will be construct a full-blown city in an isolated place, complete with all the necessary services from an events center,Urgent care Center,Town centers with casinos, k-universities schools and planned transportation system it would be largest planned green city in the United states. (Quayhands (talk) 20:02, 20 April 2010 (UTC)) Let me know what you think
so no one want to have discussion alright well later today im going add this ? (Quayhands (talk) 15:37, 21 April 2010 (UTC)).
- And soon thereafter, the additions will probably be reverted. Your interpretation of what "some of people over coyote springs development" may have said to you doesn't even remotely approach being a reliable source, as required by Wikipedia policies. Fat&Happy (talk) 16:10, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
- Wikipedia articles should be written with information from reliable, secondary sources. Such information should not be deleted simply because individual editors feel the article is too long. We have the additional obligation to strive for encyclopaedic tone; flowery language about "full-blown city" and "vision" is probably best in other types of writing. Finally, Coyote Springs as a "green city" would need solid sources and would have to be balanced by the views of environmental groups...which have been published in many reliable sources and are almost uniformly critical of the planned community. Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 16:18, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
Keepcalmandcarryon andFat&Happy i give up then becuase i seem to be doing everything wrong i just wont edit this page no more bye. (Quayhands (talk) 17:23, 21 April 2010 (UTC)).
- Noting that Quayhands and Youtubek have the same editing interests and the same editing and writing styles, one could perhaps be forgiven for questioning the sincerity of this good-bye... Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 16:30, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
Keepcalmandcarryon why was the chages i made not there? and dont even know who Quayhands is so what we have the same writing sytles it doesnt mean anything(Youtubek (talk) 19:59, 25 April 2010 (UTC)).
Hi my name is John i just joined i saw all the edits that Quayhands made and i want help clean up this page what can i do?(Massiveprojects (talk) 17:44, 29 April 2010 (UTC)).
- Provide sources for material being added. Don't make the article read like a sales pitch, it is an encyclopedia. Don't use invented and inappropriate terms (like using a label that is for cities containing millions of people) to describe the project. Vegaswikian (talk) 18:34, 29 April 2010 (UTC)
Vegaswikian ok thank you for you help i try that is there area on here where can test out what i want put on main article if so can you help
(Massiveprojects (talk) 02:37, 3 May 2010 (UTC)).
- It needs to be in clearer English. Also, you kind of lost my support at new town. That is not what it is and as I recall that phrase and similar ones have been deleted in the past. As I read the current opening, it may need some enhancement, but nothing big. Vegaswikian (talk) 05:19, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Here what i got so far let me know what u think and if wrong tell what to do to fix it

Disruptive editing
Recent edits by suspected sockpuppet User:Tonyf23ton are disruptive and puzzling. If there's a good reason to remove sourced information from the article, that reason should be presented on the talk page and discussed before changes are made. Proposed text should also be presented. Because this particular user, like the three sockpuppets before him or her, would benefit from assistance with grammar and formatting, this will allow other users to correct mistakes before the language is placed into the article. Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 23:14, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

- I have to say, I am totally confused by the editing melee over this article. ("war" would imply too much organization. :-) ) What is going on here? Stan (talk) 14:21, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
- People are removing sources, and spamming the talk page. Leave Message, Yellow Evan home
- From the edits, look at the contributions of a few of the editors, they appear to be somehow industry involved. The changes seem to be sales pitch or marketing related. However they are maturing and figuring out how to edit in ways that may keep them under the radar. This is not the only article that has been affected. There are others. If you need a change of pace, look at Vic Schoen not involved with this. Vegaswikian (talk) 18:06, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
