Professor Áine Hyland is an author and retired academic. She was a founder of the Dalkey School Project in 1974, secretary and later chairperson of Educate Together, making her a founding member of the multidenominational school movement.

Her other roles include senior Lecturer and Admissions Officer in Carysfort College (1980–1986), a senior lecturer in the education department of University College Dublin (1986–1993) and Professor of Education in University College Cork (1993–2006). She was removed from this role to Vice-President (Academic) of UCC (1999–2006) in 1999 following an allegation of bullying,[1] the second such allegation against her in the Irish Labour Court.[2] Further references [3][4]
