Hi Nawlin, |
Revision as of 22:57, 20 July 2015
Stamford Scientific Int'l, Inc. (SSI)
Hi Nawlin,
I submitted Stamford Scientific Int'l, Inc. (SSI) today which was speedily deleted. I draw your attention to our main competitor's Wikipedia page, listed under Environmental Dynamics, Inc. and ask you what is so different about their page that makes it acceptable for them to post but not for us. If there are specific recommendations or comments, they are appreciated. It looks arbitrary to me but maybe I am missing something.
Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TomFrankel (talk • contribs) 19:18, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
- Also deleted. But generally see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:22, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

Better?
Thank you, Shiraabel (talk) 22:57, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
Hi Nawlin,
I've edited and fixed some stuff - is this better: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Shiraabel/DXY_Solutions_LLC
Wanted confirmation before publishing.
Thanks, Shiraabel (talk) 19:56, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- It still appears promotional to me: "DXY is currently collaborating with multiple firms to leverage bluetooth technology and connected devices to support diagnostic tools and innovative products to support the Internet of Things movement." Also, the entire paragraph about the history of the company is unsourced, and I would guess it comes from personal knowledge or the company's website. Finally, the sort of local coverage and Northeast-Ohio awards cited don't confer notability per our standards, see WP:CORP. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:49, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
GEA Project Page Deletion
Hi Nawlin,
Thank you very much for taking the time to review the GEA Project page. Would you please be so kind to indicate what else you may need to approve the page? The GEA Project is a registered 501c3 nonprofit corporation - would official documentation prove the organization's notability? The Wikipedia page has been created to increase awareness for this charity and its educational efforts.
Thank you for your time! Regards, Federmele (talk) 22:11, 13 July 2015 (UTC)Federmele
- It's not enough that the organization exists and is a nonprofit. We require that the group already be notable (see WP:ORG), as shown by coverage in reliable independent sources, see WP:V. This is an encyclopedia that reports on topics that are already notable, not a bulletin board or forum to "increase awareness." See WP:PROMOTION. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:43, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
DXY Does Page Deletion?
Hi Nawln,
The page I just published was placed in speedy deletion. The page had over 20 citations. Kindly advise what should be removed for it to be accepted.
Thank you, Shiraabel (talk) 18:40, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
- The citations are not the problem. The whole article reads like a puff/promotional piece for DXY and its owner, with language like "The firm is well positioned for growth, and recently added two key roles to focus completely on client satisfaction.". See WP:SPAM and WP:NPOV. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:32, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
I'll edit the hell out of it then. Thanks.
Shiraabel (talk) 21:08, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
Page Deletion?
Hi Nawlin, My page was placed in speedy deletion due to a lack of citations? There were two credible sources cited- notably, the organizations website. Can you please help in order to get the page up? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Natemcdowell (talk • contribs) 20:57, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
- The organization's own website is not independent, see WP:V. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:23, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
So an outside source, maybe an article from a reliable newspaper, would make the citations more viable? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Natemcdowell (talk • contribs) 21:24, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
- Right, although our standards call for multiple independent sources. Again, please read WP:V. The sources need to show that the event is notable per our guidelines, see WP:EVENT. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:26, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
Sigh, user recreated the page. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 00:03, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
Page Deletion?
Hi Nawlin,
You flagged my post for not being notable about the company, Direct Commerce. It is very important people know about P2P tools and Direct Commerce's products because these tools create efficiency in the invoicing community and save businesses time, money and headaches. I have edited the post. Hope you will let this one be posted. Let me know if it still doesn't meet the wiki policy. P2pautomationtools (talk) 17:54, 25 June 2015 (UTC)P2pautomationtools
- Nope. "It's very important that we tell people about our useful product" is advertising, and we don't allow that, see WP:SPAM. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:59, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
- Taulia is a similar company in the industry and their page is also "advertising", but I am not looking to advertised, I am looking to share information on P2P automation and Direct Commerce was the first company to create those automation tools so it only seems valid that they would also have a page about P2P and AP automation solutions.
P2pautomationtools (talk) 18:06, 25 June 2015 (UTC)P2pautomationtools — Preceding unsigned comment added by P2pautomationtools (talk • contribs)
- It's gone, thanks. But generally, see Wikipedia:Other stuff exists. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:08, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
- Okay. If I were to re-write the page would you let it be posted? Or is it gone forever?
P2pautomationtools (talk) 18:43, 25 June 2015 (UTC)P2pautomationtools
- It's not sufficient for you to write an article about your own company and explain why you think your company is important. You need to cite what reliable, independent sources (WP:V) have written about the company, and those sources have to show that the company meets our notability standards, see WP:CORP. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:23, 25 June 2015 (UTC)

Dear NawlinWiki, I have created today one Article. Title is Sydney Biganski but now is deleted. Please give me explain, because I don't undertsand what's wrong with it. It's about a real person. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sydneysworld (talk • contribs) 5:56, 07 July 2015 (EST)
- First, you shouldn't be writing about yourself, see WP:COI. Second, an article about a person needs to cite reliable, independent sources, see WP:V, to show that the person is notable, see WP:BIO. Being a "real person" isn't enough. NawlinWiki (talk) 22:03, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
Well then what happens if this person does gets verified from other sources? Will the page eventually be put back up? Please right back.
- If and when that happens, you should redraft the article to cite those sources. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:16, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
Aftab Currency
Hi there,
This page should not be speedily deleted because... it was not meant to be for promotion or advertising purposes. Aftab Currency is a rapidly growing money transfer company which has also launched its online payment services around a year ago. Because of its online service launch many of internet users search about aftab currency over internet. This has led me to create this page for facilitation of users. I believe, the same should be restored
Regards
- "The company affords a fast, affordable and convenient way...." That's advertising. See WP:SPAM. Also, Wikipedia is not a business directory or means of publicizing your business, see WP:NOT. Finally, any article about a company would need to be supported by reliable, independents sources (WP:V) showing that the company is notable per our standards, WP:CORP. I cannot believe you deleted the page again. cant you see the significance of company.i have cited all the important references and still you deleted it like a MAD man. dont you have any job apart from deleting the pages. and this is ridiculous, the article was created for people who lives in India and Pune. they know the significance of the article. who are you to judge it sitting far away with no idea what the article is about. The company page was no way a promotional activity. it helped students to get to know about the company. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nihar.suryawanshi (talk • contribs) 09:13, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- It's exactly because we might not know about a company in a faraway country that we rely on verifiable, independent sources, see WP:V, that show that a company is notable per our standards, see WP:CORP. The article that I deleted did not indicate how this company was notable per WP:CORP, and did not cite any sources other than the company's own website. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:08, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
East Wing Airlines
I recently got to know from somewhere that this article was deleted. May I know why you deleted it as a "Hoax"? There is existence of "East Wing Airlines"[1][2], they are established in Kazakhstan. OccultZone (Talk • Contributions • Log) 13:15, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
- (tpw) OZ, did you notice that the founding date of the airline was stated as "2030"? Did you notice that the airline was supposedly based in Scotland, not Kazakhstan? You rushed your review and mistakenly passed on an obvious hoax. —DoRD (talk) 13:33, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
- It might be possible that information was misleading, but that could be corrected and the title of this article had to be checked. I remember a deletion of another article,[3] which would later pass AfD too. If there is a hoax, at least the title should be checked. OccultZone (Talk • Contributions • Log) 13:52, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, it should have been checked. By the reviewer, i.e. you. The article wasn't misleading, it was rubbish - the page was not at all related to the airline based in Kazakhstan, therefore, a hoax. If you had done even a cursory check of what was there, you would have realized that. As for the other article you mention above, it was you who incorrectly marked it for deletion. Stop trying to blame your failings on other editors. —DoRD (talk) 14:04, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
- Where did I blamed? I only said that it had to be first checked. Now someone wanted this article to be deleted as hoax, because one editor had filled the article with fake information. All it required was, that they had to be removed. Recently there were attempts to delete an old article[4] as hoax, few even agreed. But here, the title needed to be changed. Reason can be different, but it should be thoroughly checked before deletion. That's what I am saying. I cited that above example because it was one of the example from which I had learned. OccultZone (Talk • Contributions • Log) 14:10, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
- You said that checks should have been done, therefore shifting the burden and blame to someone else. But again, it is you who should have checked the article for veracity and accuracy before passing it through review. —DoRD (talk) 14:37, 5 May 2015 (UTC)

NawlinWiki, I apologize - I didn't intend for this to go round-and-round on your page like this, though I suppose I should have foreseen it. —DoRD (talk) 14:37, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
- No you made some nice points. I had this article on my watchlist, I just thought that I would act towards it, but later. Now it was mentioned elsewhere so I just thought of notifying NawlinWiki about it asap. I have just created East Wing (Kazakhstan) too. OccultZone (Talk • Contributions • Log) 14:45, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
- No problem. The East Wing article that I deleted was the product of a clever serial hoaxer, User:John Daker, who has attempted to post false information on Wikipedia in many ways. He gave himself away this time by attempting to add to the East Wing article a reference to one of his previous hoaxes. So it's not surprising that he used the name of a real (but obscure) airline to post a hoax article. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:13, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
- May I have East Wing Airlines as a redirect to East Wing (Kazakhstan)? This title is circulated.[5] OccultZone (Talk • Contributions • Log) 03:23, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
- Done, thanks. NawlinWiki (talk) 10:42, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
I think it's time to try unprotecting Talk:VBulletin
I started a thread recently [6] where I felt I was hearing some support for the idea of not having semi-protected talk pages; the number in this category is down from 86 to 68 now. You semi-protected Talk:VBulletin as a spambot target after four incidents in 2012. I think it should be time to try unprotecting it and see if the bot is really still out there... I sure hope not! Wnt (talk) 23:27, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
- Done, let's see what happens. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 18:56, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you. So far so good... at least the spambot hasn't been patiently probing the page all this time. :) Wnt (talk) 16:52, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Nicknames and hobbies?
new to wikipedia not even sure if this is the right place to add to your page... anyways in regards to your comments: "Sky" is not just a friendly nickname for Schuyler, clients, and journalists refer to him by this. Schuyler is just his full, first name. DId not know hobbies were promotional, Sky's hobby with motorcycles has help fostered deals with clients like Morgan Freeman and UTV. Let me know. Callied (talk) 18:49, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, but referring to him as "Sky" rather than "Moore" in the article shows a lack of a neutral point of view. The article is not supposed to be written as if it was a friend describing what a great guy he is. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:51, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
Got it--if i fix the language used to present the content I already have, will this page be okay? Thanks! Callied (talk) 18:53, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for revision-deleting some problematic content at Dru yoga. As a reminder, the revision deletion summaries under the category FOR USE BY OVERSIGHERS ONLY, when suppressing privacy and defamation

Hi NawlinWiki,
I apologize for saving my article to public. I meant to save it as a draft, and I clearly did not. I'll make sure to remedy that next time. I am interested to know your specific thoughts on the deletion of the article. After checking the notability guidelines, I felt that this did meet them considering the sources.
Have a good day,

Additionally, if it would make the company more notable, it has won at least 20 awards in the local area for best business. I chose not to include it due to the fact that I thought it may be promotional in nature. Thanks for your time. TheSereneTheif (talk) 22:38, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
Sorry to be of bother
Hello, NawlinWiki, this is indef-blocked User:Doughnuthead speaking. I firmly believe I can finally be of positive use to Wikipedia, and I no longer feel the need to gain attention through malicious editing. I'd actually all but forgotten about all the nonsense i had caused in the previous years until i saw a funny picture online of a guy with a swollen head, which reminded me of my username. But more to the point, i realised that my ability to edit the talk page was barred. After taking a look at previous edits, i realised i was being a bit of a tube. You were right to take that ability away. So just a heads up that i can only edit on anon as this account is obviously still suspended. In terms of getting unblocked, i haven't made a single edit to Wikipedia in almost 3 years, and during this time i have matured enough to the point that i look back at what i was getting up to and think 'Oh god! Who was i even trying to impress?!' In terms of where i aim to get involved in on the website, I still hold a strong interest in football (soccer) related articles, along with hip-hop and old school rock related articles- hence my music taste. As it has been so long since I bothered to use the editing facility, I'll need re-shown how to work various parts of the site or whatever it's called. I only remembered how to request unblock by clicking on the 'edit' tab and noticing one of my old templates! Furthermore, I don't intend to be an overly active user on the site, as I begin my university course in September much of my time will be dedicated towards my studies, and so I intend to see Wikipedia as a hobby to input my thoughts and research every now and then. Finally, thank you very much for reading my request - I appreciate the time taken to do so and I apologise for my past behaviour. I was just a stupid kid (it lasted from age 12-15 if I recall!) and I hope to hear from you as soon as possible--89.241.208.230 (talk) 13:44, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion of M&M Striping and Powerwashing
The Wikipedia page M&M Striping and Powerwashing was in no way promotional. Information--as I'm certain Wikipedia administrators know--is essential to the human condition. Depriving users of information on M&M Striping and Powerwashing is ridiculous, especially when one considers that M&M Striping and Powerwashing's page looks awfully similar to other companies' pages like Public Storage. No number or address to our company was included. No "call us now" was included. All that was included was information pertinent to the lives of Wikipedia users.
Recognizing that you are a Wikipedia administrator, I would be appalled to think that you are simply deleting pages of smaller companies that aren't national icons. Smaller companies are important to our economy; they employ half of our workforce. I have no evidence that you or any other administrators have been using these tactics, but it is not a far stretch to assume so.
Past print encyclopedias never would have had pages for companies like M&M Striping and Powerwashing; nonetheless, Wikipedia is revolutionary not traditionalist.
Cesarmart929 (talk) 21:39, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @Cesarmart929: I suggest you read about the notability criteria for companies. From my brief search, it appears that company doesn't meet these criteria, and therefore could be deleted under WP:A7 for lack of notability. EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 00:10, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
I understand that M&M Striping and Powerwashing may not meet Wikipedia's notability requirements; however, I do not understand why Wikipedia would deny "non-notable" companies a chance to provide information to their customers, however few there may be. Cesarmart929 (talk) 13:30, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Cesarmart929: Because Wikipedia is not a place to promote a business, see WP:NOTADVERTISING. If every company was allowed to have a page, then Wikipedia would have no encyclopedic value, as it would just be a directory of companies. The notability standards are deliberately to maintain the quality of the encyclopedia, so not every company/musician/person can make a page about their obscure company. Joseph2302 (talk) 13:33, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
A multi-million dollar enterprise, M&M Striping and Powerwashing, although not as notable as Fortune 500 companies, is not obscure. With factuality and proper organization, Wikipedia should not have a problem with adding the pages of smaller companies. Our page contained no factual errors or obscurity. Screening notability is not the way to maintain Wikipedia's value; screening factuality to let smaller companies add Wikipedia pages would add value to this online encyclopedia. Cesarmart929 (talk) 15:40, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
- That wasn't necessarily the problem, it was deleted as unambiguous advertising. All Wikipedia articles must be neutral in tone, see WP:NPOV, and this wasn't. Joseph2302 (talk) 15:49, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

However, this band is important for the avant-garde modern music history.
(i) Importance: LDRTFS is probably the first European band in play Drone Metal style. Releasing since 1997 more than thirty records.
Only the USA band Earth and the Japanese band Boris, released something similar before, so LDRTFS is a pioneer of a music style; at the same era Sunn O))) was doing something similar in the United States.

- I understand your concerns. The issue for us is that because we don't want to be applying our opinions to what might be musically noteworthy, we rely on verifiable independent sources, see WP:V, to establish that. The fact that we can't verify any of your sources, combined with this being "An elusive band without website, contact address, line-up...", makes me think that the band can't satisfy our criteria for inclusion, see WP:MUSIC. ELEQT
Hi NawlinWiki. I see that you deleted our ELEQT Wiki entry due to unambiguous advertising. I let our content team re-write the text and I'm hoping that it will be accepted this time.
Our network has millions of members around the world and we are not looking to advertise our services. We just want a Wiki page that has information regarding our merger and launch, so that people can easily find this data.
The revised text is below. Can I go ahead and create a new entry with this text, or will it be deleted again?
"ELEQT is a company that was founded as a result of the merger between invitation-only social network Elysiants Inc. and Qubers, the social networking business of the Quintessentially Group, creating an exclusive lifestyle discovery network with members from targeted urban locations all over the world.
ELEQT is an invitation-only social networking site focused exclusively on high net worth individuals. It is the company’s mission to establish a trusted lifestyle network that has the power to engage and influence its members not only online, but also in the real world.
Elysiants Inc. was founded in August 2007 by Ruud Smeets and Ronald de la Fuente-Saez. In February 2013, Quintessentially Group’s Qube and Elysiants Inc. announced their partnership to launch ELEQT (www.eleqt.com).
On October 1st, 2014, ELEQT was acquired by EFactor Group Corp (OTCQB: EFCT), owners of a group of entrepreneur-focused service companies and EFactor.com, a social network providing content and resources for entrepreneurs worldwide. EFactor.com has 1.3 million members in 222 territories across 240 industries. It is headquartered in San Francisco and listed on the OTC exchange (OTCQB: EFCT).
Regional offices are located in Amsterdam, Curaçao, Dubai, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, New York, São Paulo, San Francisco and Santiago de Chile."

- It's still promotional: "exclusive lifestyle... trusted lifestyle network that has the power to engage and influence..." This is what usually happens when a company tries to write its own article. See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:01, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
We've adjusted the text. Will the following be allowed?
ELEQT was founded as a result of the merger between invitation-only social network Elysiants Inc. and Qube, the social networking business of the Quintessentially Group.
--- 2012 launch --- Ruud Smeets and Ronald de la Fuente-Saez founded Elysiants in 2007. In February 2012, Elysiants Inc. and Qube announced their partnership to launch ELEQT (www.eleqt.com). Since then, ELEQT has been launched in the following cities: London, Hong Kong, São Paulo, Dubai, Santiago de Chile, Singapore, New York, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Beijing, Boston and Mexico.
--- EFactor Group acquisition --- ELEQT was acquired by EFactor Group Corp (OTCQB: EFCT), owners of a group of entrepreneur-focused service companies and EFactor.com (www.efactor.com), on October 1st 2014. EFactor.com is headquartered in San Francisco and listed on the OTC exchange (OTCQB: EFCT).
ELEQT's regional offices are currently located in Amsterdam, Curaçao, Dubai, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, New York, São Paulo, San Francisco and Santiago de Chile.

20:46, 10 June 2015 NawlinWiki deleted page Mark Gura (A7: No credible indication...) Dear NawlinWiki, you deleted the above named article today about Gura, a notable personality that should be listed in wikipedia. Gura conducts hundreds of seminars, has appeared on radio and TV and is helping to shape a new genre, that of Secular Buddhism. What information do you need me to include so that this article is not deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skierewicz (talk • contribs) 21:27, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- You would need to cite reliable independent sources (see WP:V) that establish Mr. Gura's notability per our standards at WP:BIO. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:11, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

Is it never acceptable to cite an organizations own website? Because that happens on virtually every article about organizations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by C0l3rs (talk • contribs) 15:33, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
- It can't be the principal source of information about the organization. External reporting is what tells us that an organization is notable. Per WP:V, "Self-published and questionable sources may be used as sources of information about themselves, usually in articles about themselves or their activities, without the self-published source requirement that they be published experts in the field, so long as: the material is neither unduly self-serving nor an exceptional claim; it does not involve claims about third parties; it does not involve claims about events not directly related to the source; there is no reasonable doubt as to its authenticity; the article is not based primarily on such sources." Please do read WP:V -- it will answer a lot of your questions. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:37, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

Hey NawlinWiki. You previously deleted Richard Cotton (geneticist) for unambiguous copyright infringement. The original source of the text has just released it under the CC0 zero, so I've recreated the page. Hope this is ok. Tdsmith84 (talk) 10:39, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Netatmo removed
Hey !
You actualy removed a Netatmo page, i've just made, while saying it was "Spam" or "EXCLUSIVELY promotional"...
I actualy spend time on it, and i don't understand why it is considered as spam.... I've read the list of things for the "Speed deletion" and the article is not concerned.....
If some informations were "promotional" (and i don't know which ?!) just tell me/modify them instead of removing every thing, cause it is not "exclusively promotional"...
I'm actualy going to wait a bit... but i think i'm going to post it again soon....
Thanks a lot for responding....

Hi there, I am struggling to use Wikipedia as I am new and didn't know how else to contact you. I think what you are doing for Wikipedia is great except for what you just did to me. You just deleted my page and accused me of lying. I have most certainly not lied and that article took me all night to create and I am extremely unhappy. Brandon Groves is my cousin so I think I should know!! Very rude Footymad69 (talk) 22:32, 15 June 2015 (UTC) |
- I agree that I shouldn't have tagged the article as a hoax, and I apologize. However, Mr. Groves, as a youth-level player, doesn't meet our notability standards for athletes, see WP:ATHLETE and WP:FOOTY. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:10, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Footymad69: The problem is that because he's a youth-level player, a search for Google on him yields nothing. In most cases were they don't exist on Google, the article is a hoax. Technically it should have been deleted as a non-notable person instead, but the outcome is the same. Joseph2302 (talk) 15:47, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

Deepanshu Saini
Dear Nawlin Wiki,
Well, This is the first time, I created the page and it has been deleted by you. I read your whole message. But, I didn't found anything promoting product in my page. Two pages were about the book (Fiction Novel) and I checked the formatting of the pages from other indian fiction novels books and mine are similar to them. Another page was about author deepanshu saini. In that page also, there was nothing like promoting. I didn't even post any online portal to buy books. There were just links of social media to contact the author. May u please suggest me what should I do, as such u will not delete the page in future. If you want to omit any line or para, then we can discuss over that. A\Waiting for ur reply.. Please...

Greg Rolen Biographical Article Deletion Query
Hello
I suppose you speedily deleted the article that I posted. I wrote the article with reference to other similarly written articles. I received a notification that the article needs more citations. But I have seen many articles with much less content and references. Would you Please elaborate the reason it has been taken down.
Thanks
PS: I am new to Wikipedia, so any sort of help or advice would be much appreciated.
YSB (talk • contribs) 04:37, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
- The references were not the problem. The problem is that Mr. Rolen doesn't appear to meet our criteria for notability, see WP:BIO. Wikipedia is not a directory of all people or all lawyers. NawlinWiki (talk) 14:56, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
The RBL Group
Hey NawlinWiki,
Would it be possible to give me more detail as to why The RBL Group is not a notable company? The founder of the company, Dave Ulrich, is a recognized author, speaker, management coach, and management consultant; most of his work is done through The RBL Group and their global programs. On his (well-established) wiki page he mentions co-founding the RBL Group. Also on the Hindustan Unilever's page, they mention participating in a study conducted by RBL. The RBL Group's HR Competencies Study (headed by Dave Ulrich) is one of the largest in the world. I'm afraid that maybe I was too objective for the sake of credibility and failed to demonstrate why The RBL Group is so notable. Was it a lack of sources, or something else?
Can you please reconsider this page?
Thanks for your time. Dustinjcurtis (talk) 19:28, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
- Basically, the article says that RBL Group is a company run by a notable person (Mr. Ulrich) and is doing a study with Ross School of Business. The only sources cited are two about the study, and one interview with Mr. Ulrich. Are there independent sources that discuss RBL Group itself and explain how it meets our notability guidelines, WP:CORP? If not, maybe the RBL page should just be a redirect to Mr. Ulrich's page. MetaProp NYC article speedy deletion
Hi,
The page I wrote up, MetaProp NYC, was speedily deleted and I believe it was because it was thought to be for conflict of interest. I'm not sure why and what was written that made it seem like that; I simply wanted to write a description of the venture capital that wasn't already on Wikipedia. Can you please let me know what specifically in the article needs to be changed and how I can get the editing for my article back so I can fix whatever it is that made it deleted.
MetaProp NYC is the #1 real estate technology accelerator that recently opened applications for its 2015/2016 class of 8 startups. It has been in the news: http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/06/16/metaprop-nyc-launch-idUSnPn7lMxdB+89+PRN20150616?irpc=932 . It also has its own website, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
I would like to know whatever it is in the article that I need to change in order to let the page be public. I read over the conflict of interest Wikipedia page and I don't know what specifically in my article I'd need to change and how I'd go about editing the deleted page.
Please let me know what I have to do to make MetaProp NYC's Wikipedia page public.
Thank you, Slyandvert Slyandvert (talk) 19:50, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

MetaProp NYC copy of deleted article
Is there any way for me to get the edit page for the article MetaProp NYC back so I can just edit/change it to say "is a real estate technology accelerator" and have the rest of the article that I worked hard putting together in tact?
Thank you, Slyandvert Slyandvert (talk) 20:34, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
- I've moved the article to your userspace at User:Slyandvert/MetaProp NYC. But it's not going to be enough to just take out "#1". The whole article reads like a press release for the company, including the detailed instructions on how to apply for its competition. This is why we discourage people from writing about their own organizations, see WP:COI. Furthermore, the article cited no sources other than the company's own website. We require independent sourcing, see WP:V, to show that an organization is notable per WP:ORG. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:02, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Edited MetaProp NYC
Hi NawlinWiki,
Thank you so much for letting me edit the MetaProp NYC page. I edited all of the article and added more news references to make it not sound like a press release. Could you please take a look at it on my talk page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Slyandvert/MetaProp_NYC and let me know if it looks good enough to publish publicly? If so, how can I publish it publicly now that it's on my talk page?
Thanks so much for your time, Slyandvert Slyandvert (talk) 17:31, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
- Most of your sources are the same MetaProp PR release. A company's PR release is not an independent source, even if it gets posted to multiple sites. Also, blogs are generally not considered reliable sources, see WP:RS. I therefore still don't think this company meets our notability standards. Also, the list of all of the mentors is promotional. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:02, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Packard fellows
Hello, just inquiring about the deletion of the packard fellows page. I understand that I ought to have used the wiki sandbox for this, until it was in a form to be published? If so, is there a way to retrieve the content to port to the sandbox? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wcjones4079 (talk • contribs) 18:42, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
- The problem is that it seemed like the page you were trying to create was on the order of "Here's the news about what the 2010 Packard Fellows are doing." That's not really an appropriate topic for an encyclopedia. Even if it were written more neutrally as "Research by 2010 Packard Fellows", that would be more like a news release than an encyclopedia article. See WP:NOTNEWS. It would be more appropriate to add a couple of lines to David and Lucile Packard Foundation saying something like "Research by the Fellows has included...." (citation to reliable source). Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 19:38, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
The idea was to have a chronicle of the past research supported by the Foundation, which would be maintained by the groups receiving the support rather than by the Foundation. Each class of Fellows would have a section on this page. We could link it to the Foundation page, but the rationale for not doing so was that the Foundation does much more than supporting basic research through the Fellows program. Such a chronicle of the Fellows would seem similar to those listed on the Gates Foundation, and the linked pages to specific programs, such as this one. Either way, thanks for your attention. Wikipedia is an amazing resource. Wcjones4079 (talk) 14:07, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

Swati Jaihind Page Deletion
Hi You have deleted the page Swati Jaihind without giving any chance to discuss on it. A lot unfair and unjust attempts were made last night to vandalize the page. We are in the process of improving the page but why despite all the credible sources does it seem not wiki worthy? I hope you will be fair and justified in your reply and give adequate chance to discuss before arriving at conclusions.Gautamsingh93 (talk) 02:53, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
Hi
Swati Jaihind is on official post of Delhi Government (India). Shouldn't you must ask for verification and validation of provided information before deleting that page?
If you need any documentary proof/Certificates/Other Ref. just let us know we will provide the same.
Please NawlinWiki(talk) restore that page and let us know what information we need to correct as per wiki norms.
Thanks KuldeepKadyan(talk)
- Two points: (1) the sources cited mentioned Ms. Swati Maliwal only in passing. Neither was *about* her. The first story merely quoted her once, and the second merely said that she was leading a project. That doesn't satisfy our notability criteria, WP:BIO, or our sourcing criteria, WP:V. (2) It's interesting that both articles refer to Ms. Maliwal only by her real name, but you keep trying to post the article using her promotional nickname, "Swati JaiHind" ("Jai Hind" means "long live India"). That supports our conclusion that the article is meant to promote and publicize Ms. Maliwal. We don't allow that, see WP:SPAM. NawlinWiki (talk) 14:25, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
- Appreciate your reply. Here are my views on the points raised by you. (1) The sources mentioned are from long ago and yes they do mention the person in passing but don't establish all that was written in the article, that she was a core committee member of the 2011 Anti COrruption Campaign and that she has played a role in RTI activism. Nothing else which would be boastful or inflammatory was written. Moreover, does the person now being a government official not qualify under the notably criteria. The first three references clearly establsih this fact and aslo her contributions while in the office. (2) Yes JaiHind means what you have written. But it is also her husband's surname which she has adopted since her marriage. A lot people in India who have denounced caste-ism ie. caste and creed based surnames adopt surnames like jaihind, azaad(freedom), insaan(human) etc. It was not meant to be promotional. However, if you still feel it is that way. that could have changed. And I said earlier, we were in the process of improving the article. All that was not seeming neutral or seemed boastful was being cleaned up. It is perhaps the timezones that made you think we were not serious. I slept off and woke up to the deleted page. Ofc you are authorised and have every right to take the actions that you took but just a discussion is all that I am asking for. By the way, the person who initially created the page is also senior contributor who has contributed many notable pages. So if there are credibility issues, we are ready to work on them.
- All I want to say is that I appreciate your concerns but I do believe we can discuss to resolve them in a different way than we are doing right now. Gautamsingh93 (talk) 02:28, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
- To respond: Just being a government official isn't enough to confer notability for our purposes. See WP:NPOL. Also, all facts asserted in Wikipedia articles need to be supported by reliable, verifiable, independent sources, see WP:V. You're telling me that *you* know the facts stated in the article (for example, that "JaiHind" is her actual surname), even though those facts don't appear in verifiable sources. We can't rely on your (or anybody's) word, though, because we can't be in the business of deciding which editors are trustworthy and which aren't. We have to go by independent sources. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 15:43, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
- So if I may ask, Swati Maliwal as the title seems fit. Does the article then become wiki-worthy considering all other facts stated? 164.100.57.2 (talk) 06:58, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- No. As I stated above, just being a government official isn't enough to confer notability for our purposes. Please read WP:NPOL before asking any more questions. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:48, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

Dang, you speedied this article before I could even tag it for notability issues! Zing! Good work. Some dude is trying to add himself to lists of notable people... Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:55, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
I've left the user what I hope is a clear explanation of our notability guidelines. Crossing fingers. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:01, 10 July 2015 (UTC)

Tallgrass Beef
Hi Nawlin,
We’re simply trying to change what amounted to half a story which is damaging to the business. As it stood originally, it had only the fact that a fine was imposed with a deadline. It did not say the producer debts and fine was paid in full by the deadline. Without that the reader was left to question any payment was ever made at all which is damaging.
Please advise on how we can make this work for you and the Wikipedia guidelines.
Thank you.

- That's not all you're trying to add. You're adding editorial commentary that lauds Tallgrass: "Tallgrass Beef Company had earned a seat at the table as a healthy, grass-fed alternative to the way most cattle were raised and fattened in the U.S. Clearly a disrupter to the status quo, the Tallgrass (grass-fed) attributes are acknowledged as having been accurate and visionary." See WP:NPOV and WP:SPAM. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:27, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
Alla Furman
I love to write an entry for the Realtor: Alla Furman and I was informed that indeed someone earlier made an attempt but the page was deleted. I was reffered to you. Please can you give me an explanation on what happened? Was the deletion based on notoriety issues or hoax? I have good intel on her with various verifiable links. Thanks for your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wtoalabi (talk • contribs) 04:30, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- The previous entry was deleted because it was promotion/marketing, written by a marketing company. See WP:PROMOTION and WP:SPAM. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:46, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
moving to protected page
Hi NawlinWiki, I was wondering if you could use your admin powers to move this new stub to here (protected for repeat spamminess, looks like). There's a lot of interlinking to do for the topic, but seems silly to get started before the page is in the right place. Thanks! Earflaps (talk) 18:24, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- Well, given that this was the subject of a recent AFD that ended in deletion, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dyro, I am concerned about recreating the article under any name. Any comments on how your draft is different? Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 21:52, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
Unprotect Lord Haw-Haw
Lede needs fixing. Simply, this edit needs to be corrected: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lord_Haw-Haw&oldid=615606365 67.187.5.157 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 23:53, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
- Not going to do this. You can stop asking. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:31, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
186.88.0.0/16
You blocked 186.88.0.0/16 for being an open proxy. That range appears to belong to an ISP, however, and I don't think it's likely that all of their customers are open proxies. Can you clarify this? (Brought to my attention by User talk:186.88.177.160.) Jackmcbarn (talk) 19:49, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
- This is CanTV in Venezuela, whose IPs have been used willy-nilly by User:JarlaxleArtemis to post his usual vitriol. Individual IPs from this ISP are also frequently blocked by User:ProcseeBot. It's fine with me if you unblock the individual IP, though. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 20:11, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
- AFAIK, it's not possible to unblock an individual IP caught in a rangeblock. Jackmcbarn (talk) 20:47, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
Explanation
Why did you delete the category I created - songs about buttocks. It was not vandalism. I know it's kind of goofy, but there are a lot of songs about this "topic" -- baby got back and my humps probably being the most well-known. i found a lot of categories sorting songs by the subject of the lyrics, so this seemed like something that was okay to do. there is a category for songs about bdsm for example, and also a category for songs about prostitutes. it seems like there was a precedent for a category for songs about butts, given all the songs there are about butts. I posted a response to Gparyani who "speedy nominated" the category on my page. i also posted a note explaining why this category was not vandalism on the page the speedy deletion notice told me to post it on. what is the point of telling people they can contest "speedy nominations" by making a post on a certain page if this post is just going to be deleted without even being responded to? Block evading IP
Block evading IP is back at the Amy Adams article reinserting the same photo with copyright concerns, this time as User:166.171.186.254. See this for more. I have no doubt this IP is the blocked User:DC who is also the blocked User:New England. I am also very certain DC/New England is an editor who has an account in good standing with a vendetta against me. I have voiced my suspicions of who the editor is to another admin and am waiting for him to look further into the issue. At any rate, the IPs always geolocate to New York, NY; Bronx, NY; or Boston, MA. He will likely continue to see how far he can push this particular envelope. -- WV ● ✉ ✓ 22:10, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
