The Graphics Lab is a project to improve the graphical content of the Wikimedia projects. Requests for image improvements can be added to the workshop pages: Illustrations, Photographs and Maps. For questions or suggestions one can use the talk pages: Talk:Graphics Lab, Talk:Illustrations, Talk:Photographs and Talk:Maps.
This specific page is the requests page for the Map workshop. Anyone can make a request for a map to be created or improved for a Wikipedia article. The standard format for making a request is shown below, along with general advice, and should be followed.
You are encouraged to share information and request advice from others. Also see possible conventions toolbox, map tutorials and topographic map tutorials.

Advice to requesters

What do we do?

Location maps
Area maps (animals, languages, empires, etc.)
Historical and conflict related maps
Battle maps
Technical maps (archaeology, city closeups, etc.)

Sourced requests: If possible, please try to provide a reliable source to create a map. This includes a map already on Wikipedia with a reliable source or an external link.
Please check: Please check back regularly to see if progress has been made or if any additional questions need to be answered before the request can be completed.
Direct collaboration: Some mapmakers are especially interested by one topic area. If you notice a mapmaker fitting your needs, consider asking on their personal talk page to request maps.

Request: Adjusting combined British and Mongol Empire map

A map of the British (red) and Mongol (blue) empires at their respective greatest extents

Request: Hello! This map has been used at List of largest empires until Kimand299 noted that The mongol empire never went that far into eastern europe even at its greatest extent and removed it. I think that this would be fixed if the map used the European border from this version of the Mongol Empire map instead of this version, but I'm not entirely sure so Kimand299 may have to correct me on that. We also noted that it's rather difficult to tell that Hong Kong was part of the British Empire without zooming in quite closely, which I'm not sure how best to solve (it is rather a small territory, so maybe it's okay that zooming in to see it is necessary?). There may be other issues that Kimand299 have noticed—I'll let them elaborate on that if that's the case.

Hello, I am looking to have a map of Auckland, similar in style to the one of London above. The map will be used in the articles listed above to show the locations of the Auckland teams (as well as for future seasons). So far I have only managed to find the one of Auckland shown above or another, which was a plain orange map of Auckland. They aren't quite what I was looking for though. @Kezyfooty sorry for getting back a bit late; do you have a specific boundary in Auckland you would like to highlight? Hello, there is currently no topographic map available in svg format that covers the whole Balkan Peninsula. The only map we have is a not detailed and outdated jpg map. 2021 Jersey dispute

I'm working on bringing 2021 Jersey dispute up to GA standard. Commons has various maps showing the location of the island of Jersey and the adjacent coasts of France. What this article needs is to show label the location of:

Saint Helier harbour on Jersey
two ports on the Normandy coast - Barneville-Carteret, Granville, Manche
one port in Brittany - Saint-Malo
two uninhabited reefs - the Minquiers and Écréhous
outline of the three and twelve mile limits of territorial sea around Jersey - there are various sources but this one is probably the simplest

@Goran tek-en Well the second map should only include the area of the park, in most cases the park borders are streets, so don't border with the city, just the park. 1 Those light paths like things?

2 Those brown areas?

3 The light green like open areas, grass with out trees or what?

1. That are small clean areas only whith grass.

2. I belive just different type of trees.

3. Yes, open spaces like small meadows or fields.

4. Yes, bushes or single tree.

5. Yes that right that is avenue or allee. Trees are on both sides.
