Possibility Of Existence Before August 2014
I do believe that the dinosaur itself (Even If Not The Game) had existed before August and maybe even 2014, even if the game was unplayable at that period, if research is needed to be done about it I will, just instances of the dinosaur (And Images) have appeared before August 2014, could it be that the Easter egg was there before it was a game?
My sources are Tineye.com (And other reverse image sites) in which searching a few different image versions of the dinosaur, results come up before its initial release as of this time that we know of

New Discovery In Chrome Dino Game By Daniel Jacob Kantrowitz
In The Chrome Dino Game If You Before You Start You Click On The Dino, Then Press The Down Arrow The Dino will Be Selected, If You Then Click The Up Arrow Or Spacebar To Start The Game, The Music Will Be Different And You Will Hear A Ding Whenever You Need To Jump Or Crouch To Avoid An Obstacle Allowing You To Get Incredibly High Scores. I Normally Am Not Very Good At The Game But With This Cheat, I Got The Score of 1,453. This Is A Great Easter Egg And I Found It By Accident — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.49.192.59 (talk) 14:08, June 28, 2021 (UTC)
- I just tested this out and it indeed works (clicking on the dinosaur once before pressing the space bar will activate some sort of "easy mode"). Unfortunately, in order for this information to be included, you must cite a reliable source rather than merely your own experience, per WP:VNT and WP:OR. InfiniteNexus (talk) 16:41, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- To be fair, this is quite verifiable, as you have seen. I think it comes down more to whether the detail needs to be covered. Reliable sources certainly give a sense of what is notable and what is not. WP:GAMECRUFT is the relevant guidance. Without a Wikipedia account, it's hard to contact Daniel, but he might be better off sending this tip to a video game journal or website than posting here. — HTGS (talk) 22:29, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- The point I was trying to make is that we can't just add this information without citing any sources. The notability of the subject is another matter. InfiniteNexus (talk) 22:45, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- I understand what you were saying, and I agree that it should not be added. I just disagreed on the specifics of your rationale. Pedantic, I know. (And I meant notability of details; but perhaps I should have said used a different word.) — HTGS (talk) 22:49, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- We could actually, gameplay comes under WP:PLOT, no sources needed for simple statements that are "sourced" to the work itself; the question with game cruft is how awfully specific to get about using controls and sequences for things. And the answer here is that it would be excessive. Kingsif (talk) 20:02, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

GA nom?
@InfiniteNexus: As the only consistent editor to this article, I want to ask your views on nominating it for Good Article status; I have tidied it up a little bit (after I got stuck without internet and played it for about three days straight...) and think it is in satisfactory condition for such a review. I have nominated (and reviewed) many GANs and would be happy to take it through the process if you think this is a good idea, but as a main contributor you are welcome to do that instead! Thanks, Kingsif (talk) 03:32, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Kingsif: XTools actually identifies you as the top contributor to the article, followed by a blocked sockpuppet, so you're welcome to nominate the article for GA if you wish. WP:GACR doesn't say anything about length, but my only concern would be whether the article has enough detail for a GAN. InfiniteNexus (talk) 17:23, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
- I've done a thorough polishing of the article. Should be good for a GAN. InfiniteNexus (talk) 18:41, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
