leader
Andrea Stewart-Cousins ousted John Sampson as the Senate minority leader yesterday. Shouldn't this be added? She's the first woman and African-American woman to be elected to a chamber leadership post. 74.69.11.229 (talk) 20:04, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

A major editor of this article, User:RossHardisty, appears to be the same person who was the director of communications for the State Senate. Bearian (talk) 19:34, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
Top Importance Status
While I agree Andrea Stewart-Cousins is a very important figure in NYS, could someone clarify why this article is of the top importance status? Perhaps we could focus on that to improve the article? WiiAlbanyGirl (talk) 21:48, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
Needs more sources
The article needs more sources. There are only six sources cited, and there are entire paragraphs that are unsourced. I am tagging the page accordingly. SunCrow (talk) 01:56, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
No Jumping the Gun
I just removed language describing Sen. Stewart-Cousins as the next Senate Majority Leader. This language is premature. The Senate will elect the next majority leader when the legislative session begins in 2019. While it is quite likely that Sen. Stewart-Cousins will be elected Senate Majority Leader at that time, Wikipedia is not an encyclopedia of future events. SunCrow (talk) 14:20, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
Question
The infobox says that Sen. Stewart-Cousins stopped being Senate Minority Leader on 1-2-19 and began as Senate Majority Leader on 1-9-19. No sources are offered. The weeklong gap doesn't make sense to me. I suspect that one of these dates is incorrect. Does anyone have any insight? SunCrow (talk) 18:26, 23 September 2019 (UTC)
