The Assyrian Black March Movement

The Black March Movement was formed in 2010 in the United States of America in response to the bombing and massacre of more than 50 Assyrian Christians at the Lady of Salvation Catholic Syriac Church in Baghdad, Iraq. its believed more than 100 people had also been injured, many of whom were later flown out of the country to neighboring Turkey and Europe for emergency treatment.

The Movement was responsible for the chain reaction which saw then of thousands of Assyrians, Chaldean and Syriac Christians protest across the globe in more than 30 countries. The protests were organised by dozens of chapters which were formed after ordinary Assyrian youth who gathered hundreds of youth within their communities and held emergency meetings in America, Australia, Canada, Netherlands and England.
