Beauvais–Tillé Airport
Paris-Beauvais-Tillé (IATA: BVA, ICAO: LFOB) is a French airport, originally the small regional airport of the city of Beauvais. This airport was built in the 1930s and improved by the German army during the Second World War. In 1956, it was open to commercial use. After the founding of the low-cost carrier Ryanair, it became the third-largest Paris airport, the company having made Beauvais Tille its Paris-area terminal. It is actually located in the community of Tillé, north of Beauvais.
As of 2005, the airport had three gates, housed within a semi-permanent tent. The only public transportation available is a 75-minute bus ride between the terminal and a parking lot adjacent to the Palais de Congrès, located in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, approximately a kilometre west of the Arc de Triomphe. The fare is 13 euro each way.
