You have been blocked from editing for a period of 2 weeks for persistently making disruptive edits. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Widr (talk) 14:53, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • You have continuously disrupted Janet Jackson articles after several warnings and two previous blocks. If you continue this behavior and ignore what other editors have been telling you about gaining consensus, the next block will probably be considerably longer, perhaps indefinite. Request reason:

Since you are focusing my edits on Janet articles, I will talk only about them.

The edits that I am trying to make on Janet Jackson article are as below -
1 In the introduction, I want to mention the point that she was voted as Queen of Pop in poll conducted by VH1.[1]
2 Second, she has sold 160 million records. This is accepted by Billboard, BMG, and Janet herself as well.[2][3][4]

While on Janet Jackson discography, the edits that I want to make are as below -
1 Control has sold 14 million copies worldwide. This is accepted by Billboard.[5] And 496,000 in US according to Soundscan[6] and 883,000 according to BMG.[7]
2 Rhythm nation has sold 20 million. This is accepted by Entertainment Weekly and Janet herself.[8][9] And 1,377,000 according to Soundscan[10] and 1,100,000 according to BMG.[11]
3 Janet album has sold 20 million copies.[12] And 7,040,000 according to Soundscan[13] and 860,000 according to BMG.[14] Combining Soundscan and BMG, it has sold 7,900,000 copies in US.[15][16]

I provided all the latest, important, and accurate information which was supported by all the mainstream dependable sources but some other users reverted it and replaced it with outdated and irrelevant data. I am on Wikipedia only to make it better with fresh and valuable edits. Hence, I request you to get this block out from my account. Thank you.

Decline reason:

Firstly, edit warring would be an issue even if you were right. Secondly, "I provided all the latest, important, and accurate information which was supported by all the mainstream dependable sources" - here you replaced newspapers like the Daily Telegraph and the Chicago Sun-Times with press releases that also happened to be months or even years older. So no, providing the latest, important and accurate information isn't what you were trying to do. Huon (talk) 19:05, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) I was about to decline this unblock request as well. Unblock requests are not the place to resolve disputes. The focus of an unblock request should be addressing the reason(s) why you were blocked, expressing some sort of acknowledgment of those reasons, expressing some sort of awareness of existing policies and guidelines related to that behavior, and presenting some kind of a plan for how you intend to avoid the behavior in the future. Your response does nothing to address any of this. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:09, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This user is asking that their block be reviewed:

Request reason:

Huon, administrator, Widr, was mentioning edits on articles of Janet that I made are cause of blocking of my account. Hence, I was clearing him/her that I don't believe the edits that I made were inappropriate and liable to be blocked. Since you brought subject of Madonna on this page, let me clear you what edits I made and why I made them on her page.

The edits that I made on Madonna albums discography page are as below -
1 I updated sales of Music to 10,000,000; the figure which is accepted by PRNewswire, Warner Bros Records, and Madonna herself.[1][2]
2 I updated Confession on dance floor to 8,000,000; this figure is accepted by Billboard and Madonna herself.[3][4]

Overall, I am trying to say is that I am making edits which are accepted by official websites of respective singers, their record labels and third party sources; the information which all of these websites are providing is recent and agreed by all the parties.

Cyphoidbomb, I made no such statements which you were expecting me to do because I don't agree that I did something wrong. If I was making edits which are very old, underrating, vicious like other users who reverted my edits then I would have apologized. If doing right is wrong on Wikipedia then I am wrong. As an administrator, you have all the power to take side of any writer, hence I expect you to take side of right writer.

1 You can see how some bad writers have deflated Janet's 160 million records figure to 100 million.[5]
2 See how they also deflated Control, Rhythm nation, and Janet album figures from 14 million, 20 million, 20 million to 10 million, 12 million, and 14 million respectively.[6]
3 On the other hand, the same writers inflated Music and Confession on dance floor figure from 10 million and 8 million to 15 million and 12 million respectively.[7]

None of the figures they provided were accepted by Warner Bros Records or Madonna herself. While the sources they provided about Janet were neither accepted by Janet's record labels or by herself. These writers are deflating Janet's achievements and inflating Madonna's achievements because of the rivalry between the two singers. Hence, actions against them must be taken.

You still don't address either the reasons for your blocks or the problems I saw with your edits. If you argue that "accepted by PR Newswire" means something on Wikipedia, you should re-read WP:Identifying reliable sources - press releases are not particularly good references. "Accepted by Warner Bros or Madonna" is also irrelevant when the figures are based on reliable sources - and the Daily Telegraph clearly is reliable enough a source.
