"re-BEL", hm? I wonder what the etymology of that name is.

Anyway. I'd like to suggest that you take a minute and create yourself a user page, so as to better distinguish yourself from the new-and-flyby accounts. Just tell us a little bit about yourself.

Looking forward to reading more of your work. DS 14:43, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An interesting piece, to which it would be a good idea to add a source. Best, Staffelde 02:15, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

J. Edwin Seegmiller

I just want to say thanks for helping with the article on J. Edwin Seegmiller. I started it after I met his wife a few weeks ago (she lives near me and goes to the same church as I do). When she found out that I was from the same small town as he was she began to tell me about him. It turned into a long conversation when she also found out that I had studied biochemistry as an undergrad, was now pursuing a phd at ucsd, and that I also had worked at the NIH. I'll let his wife know about the article you helped write.--Nate 20:20, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

sex determination

Perhaps you could take a look at sex determination system and the linked subpages. Am I wrong in finding them rather trivial, with inadequate detail, documentation, and perhaps understanding? (I'm also not sure of the standard nomenclature these days--my last encounter was in teaching them to undergraduates 2 or 3 decades ago, and I relied a lot on Curt Stern's textbook, as most of what I knew on the subject was about E. coli.).DGG 22:50, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DGG suggested I might contact you to ask your opinion. I am thinking about writing about Norman H. Horowitz, Caltech biology professor, previous department head etc. One can find some material about him:

Conductors category

You've added a lot of pages to the "conductors" category, even though they are already in some sub-category such as "American conductors". We generally only add an article to the most specific category possible: see Wikipedia:Categorization_and_subcategories. Grover cleveland 08:31, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for fleshing out the article on this film. I was watching this along with my mom, and decided to look it up on WP to check out a cast member, and realized that the "Arizona (film)" linked to a different movie, so I disambiguated the two into separate articles and left the 1940 film to work on later. You saved me some work, and did a good job. I added the bit about Old Tucson Studios; a group I was with visited the park about a month ago, and a guide mentioned this film. Thanks again! Bonjour TBHecht, Happy New Year. J'ai vu que vous avez pris en 2006 l'article francais comme base de l'article en anglais. Il contient deux trois erreurs. J'ai changé l'essentiel. Unreferenced BLPs

Hello TBHecht! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 4 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 289 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:15, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Need for Birth & Death Dates

I may well be in a minority of one but I firmly believe that ALL BIOGRAPHICAL ENTRIES in Wikipedia SHOULD LIST THE BIRTH AND, if applicable, DEATH DATES, even if these dates are by necessity approximate. For example: "Mark Bittman (c.1950- ) is an American food journalist and author."

Ways to improve Jewish Museum Rotenburg an der Fulda

Hello, TBHecht,

Thanks for creating Jewish Museum Rotenburg an der Fulda! I edit here too, under the username Boleyn and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:-

Please add your references.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Boleyn}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

An article you recently created, Jewish Museum Rotenburg an der Fulda, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Notable inclusion in lists

Hi there - I saw your recent edit to Friends School of Baltimore which included Frederick Hecht as a notable alumnus. The general guidance under WP:ALMA allows red-linked persons to be listed, but only provided they are likely to meet the standard for an article in the future, which in this case would be WP:ACADEMIC. I take it from your username and page that you are likely the same Dr. Hecht that was listed, and so may be able to help in determining that. Can you point out a few secondary sources that demonstrate you would meet the criteria for an article to be created? If so, I would love to help to create such an article, even a simple one. This would help prevent questions of notability in the future that might cause this entry to be removed from Friends School, or Hecht (surname) (Some editors are more indiscriminate about deleting redlinked names in these areas). Hope that I can help with this, and thanks for reading. Sauzer (talk) 00:21, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Luspatercept, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page SMAD (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
